【摘 要】高中英語課外閱讀能激發(fā)學(xué)生的閱讀興趣,提高學(xué)生的閱讀理解能力,是課內(nèi)閱讀的補(bǔ)充,是閱讀教學(xué)的重要組成部分。

一、案例背景
英語閱讀理解在江蘇高考中難度系數(shù)逐年提高,簡(jiǎn)單的課本內(nèi)容顯然無法滿足高中生的閱讀需求。高中生求知欲望強(qiáng)烈,渴望接觸更豐富新穎的文章來獲取信息,開闊視野。
二、教學(xué)設(shè)計(jì)理念
1.運(yùn)用任務(wù)型教學(xué)法和活動(dòng)教學(xué)法,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生對(duì)英語的綜合運(yùn)用能力。
2.課堂教學(xué)以學(xué)生為主體,激發(fā)學(xué)生積極的學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度和正確的情感價(jià)值觀。
三、學(xué)情分析
本課的教學(xué)對(duì)象為高一年級(jí)的學(xué)生,他們已掌握一定的英語閱讀技能,渴望新鮮的文本閱讀。
四、教材分析
本節(jié)課教學(xué)內(nèi)容為Bel Pesce在TED演講Five ways to kill your dreams的文字稿。Bel言簡(jiǎn)意賅地介紹了5個(gè)能讓夢(mèng)想破碎的陷阱。
五、教學(xué)目標(biāo)
學(xué)生能運(yùn)用一定的閱讀策略理解文本;學(xué)生能逐步提高閱讀速度,培養(yǎng)正確的閱讀習(xí)慣;學(xué)生能從文本中獲知實(shí)現(xiàn)夢(mèng)想的方法并付諸實(shí)踐。
六、教學(xué)過程
Step I. Lead-in導(dǎo)入
1.介紹文本的作者Bel Pesce: entrepreneur and founder of FazINOVA。2. What is a dream?詢問學(xué)生對(duì)夢(mèng)想的定義:a series of imagines, events and feelings that happen in your mind while you are alseep OR a wish to have or be something, especially one that seems difficult to achieve?3.Brainstroming: What is your dream? 讓學(xué)生分享各自的夢(mèng)想。Then how to achieve your dream? Our material will give you the answer.
設(shè)計(jì)依據(jù)和目的:緊扣文本關(guān)鍵詞夢(mèng)想,讓學(xué)生探究夢(mèng)想的定義。并讓學(xué)生說說自己的夢(mèng)想,至于如何實(shí)現(xiàn)它,關(guān)注文本內(nèi)容。導(dǎo)入部分緊湊不羅嗦,也鍛煉了學(xué)生的語言表達(dá)能力。
Step II. Sorting out information整理分類信息
1.According to the speaker, what are the ways that will kill your dreams?給學(xué)生兩分鐘思考時(shí)間,讓幾個(gè)學(xué)生回答問題并劃出文章中相應(yīng)的句子。教師總結(jié):If you follow the ways, youll surely kill your dreams. 2. 鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生猜詞的意思:How can you understand the sentence “When we think about the dreams we have, it is striking to see how big of an overlap there is between the dreams that we have and projects that never happen.”教師在PPT上用直觀的動(dòng)態(tài)圖展示overlap的意思。3.讓學(xué)生在五個(gè)方法前面加上Dont,便是我們對(duì)待夢(mèng)想應(yīng)該采取的態(tài)度。
設(shè)計(jì)依據(jù)和目的:培養(yǎng)學(xué)生查找信息,猜測(cè)詞義以及語言轉(zhuǎn)述能力。在高考英語閱讀理解和任務(wù)型閱讀中,語言轉(zhuǎn)述能力顯得尤為重要,所以筆者花了充足的時(shí)間讓學(xué)生思考推敲,討論篩選。
Step III. Paraphrasing 改寫
How do you understand the sentence“The pipes are infinite and youre going to bump your head, and its part of the process.”答案: The way to success is very long and on the way you are likely to meet with difficulties, troubles and frustrations.學(xué)生不僅要對(duì)這句話的表層意思進(jìn)行理解,還要學(xué)會(huì)聯(lián)想到人生中遇到的挫折。
設(shè)計(jì)依據(jù)和目的:既是對(duì)難句的表層理解,更是對(duì)文本整段信息的把握,學(xué)生要學(xué)會(huì)抓住語篇信息,不能只見樹木,不見森林。
Step IV. Read and answer閱讀與回答
1.Questions:(1)What do these people in the stories share in common?(2)What makes them successful? 答案:(1)They had difficulties in their early lives. They didnt believe that their fate was all set. They worked hard to make their dreams come true.(2)Never give in to difficulties. Believe in themselves. Work hard. 2. Group work: Think of some other qualities that can help you achieve success.學(xué)生一般想到的都是形容詞,鼓勵(lì)他們?cè)侔研稳菰~轉(zhuǎn)化成名詞,操練學(xué)生的構(gòu)詞技能。
設(shè)計(jì)依據(jù)和目的:通過閱讀supplementary materials補(bǔ)充材料以及進(jìn)行頭腦風(fēng)暴,學(xué)生進(jìn)一步豐富關(guān)于夢(mèng)想,成功的語言素材。
Step V. Making a sppech&consolidation演講與總結(jié)
1.Topic:The most important quality to success.演講之前,教師先和學(xué)生探討How to make an impressive speech? Body languages; eye contact; personal experience; humor.2.教師用名人的話總結(jié)本節(jié)課:All of our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.——By Walt Disney.
設(shè)計(jì)依據(jù)和目的:演講是整節(jié)課最后的語言輸出,要求高,難度大。教師先與學(xué)生的問題探討能降低難度,讓學(xué)生演講時(shí)更加自信。用名人的話總結(jié)本課,回歸到主題“夢(mèng)想”,首尾呼應(yīng)。
七、教學(xué)反思
本節(jié)課師生配合默契,學(xué)生由淺入深地完成了對(duì)文本的閱讀,訓(xùn)練提升了學(xué)生的概括總結(jié),猜測(cè)詞義,文字轉(zhuǎn)述等閱讀技能,最后還富有激情地進(jìn)行了演講。筆者當(dāng)初在聽到這個(gè)富有激情的TED關(guān)于夢(mèng)想的演講時(shí)覺得可以把文字稿作為課外閱讀材料,讓學(xué)生進(jìn)行閱讀。教師平時(shí)要做教學(xué)的有心人,遇到好的文本可以分享給學(xué)生,設(shè)計(jì)一些相關(guān)的,有意義的任務(wù)來引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進(jìn)行閱讀。高中生的課外閱讀教學(xué),是一個(gè)循序漸進(jìn)的過程。教師的有效指導(dǎo)與學(xué)生的積極閱讀相結(jié)合,相信能逐步提高學(xué)生的課外閱讀能力。endprint
