由澳門(mén)基金會(huì)主辦、官樂(lè)怡基金會(huì)協(xié)辦的澳門(mén)藝術(shù)家推廣計(jì)劃“落與起——馬維斯作品展”于7月12日至26日在官樂(lè)怡基金會(huì)畫(huà)廊舉辦，展出藝術(shù)家馬維斯繪畫(huà)作品30幅，同時(shí)首發(fā)《落與起——馬維斯作品集》。澳門(mén)基金會(huì)教科文中心代處長(zhǎng)郭韋琪、官樂(lè)怡基金會(huì)社會(huì)文化部協(xié)調(diào)員甘帝德、展覽作者馬維斯和他的學(xué)生及藝術(shù)界友人出席展覽開(kāi)幕式。

在談及展覽主題時(shí)，馬維斯說(shuō)，展名源自去年4月他不慎跌倒，導(dǎo)致站立或坐著都感到劇痛而無(wú)法創(chuàng)作，所幸通過(guò)藥物治療后，痛楚逐漸減輕才能重新作畫(huà)，但目前只能創(chuàng)作一些比較小的作品。馬維斯自來(lái)澳后一直活躍于藝壇，參與大量展覽，其作品亦為眾多澳門(mén)及海外的私人或公共機(jī)構(gòu)所藏。近年來(lái)，馬維斯致力教導(dǎo)學(xué)生，傳授其獨(dú)特技藝，尤擅亞克力、水溶性顏料、中式墨、紙巾等繪畫(huà)技法。

“Fall and Rise—Denis Murrell’s Paintings” exhibition, part of “Macao Artists Promotion Plan” sponsored by Macao Foundation and cosponsored by Rui Cunha Foundation, was held at the gallery of Rui Cunha Foundation from July 12 till 26. Along with this exhibition consisting of some 30 selected works by artist Denis Murrell, the same-name album was issued simultaneously. Distinguished guests such as Ms. Susana Kwok, acting director of UNESCO Center of Macao Foundation, and Professor C·ndido Azevedo, coordinator of Department of Social Culture and Philanthropy of Rui Cunha Foundation, as well as the author, along with his students and friends in art circles, attended the opening ceremony.

According to the author, this interesting title comes from his painful experience last April when he had such a terrible fall that he was totally unable to continue his creation in either standing or sitting position. Thanks to some pills and treatment, his pain was greatly relieved and then he could restart some trivial works so far. Upon arrival at Macao, Denis Murrell has been active in art circles with massive participation into exhibitions, and his works have been collected by many private and public organizations both at home and abroad. In recent years, Denis Murrell has been devoted to lecturing his unique artistry to his students, especially the technique in adoption of acrylic, soluble pigment, Chinese ink and tissue.

馬維斯Resumé of Denis Murrell

1947年3月2日出生于澳大利亞墨爾本郊區(qū)上福翠谷里，早年在澳大利亞接受師范教育后，在當(dāng)時(shí)由澳大利亞托管的巴布亞新幾內(nèi)亞任職英文教師，于1989年移居澳門(mén)。1995年獲第二屆澳門(mén)藝術(shù)雙年展西畫(huà)組一等獎(jiǎng)，翌年其作品《兩者》獲全澳書(shū)畫(huà)聯(lián)展西畫(huà)組優(yōu)勝獎(jiǎng)。畫(huà)作《月亮幻想》在華盛頓的霍特杯20世紀(jì)亞洲藝術(shù)賽中獲得銀獎(jiǎng)。

Born at Upper Ferntree Gully of Melbourne, Australia on March 2, 1947, Denis Murrell received normal education in Australia in his youth and became an English teacher in Papua New Guinea, a then trustee of Australia. In 1989, he migrated to Macao and won the 1stPrize of Western Painting in the 2nd Macao Art Biennale in 1995. In the next year, with his works titled “Twosome” he won excellence award of Western Painting in the All-Macao Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. His painting Moon Fantasy was awarded Silver Prize in the Hult Cup of 20thCentury Asian Arts Competition held in Washington.
