【Abstract】As English is becoming internationalized，English is becoming more and more important； therefore，many people want to study English and want to learn it very well.And here I want to share some of my own learning experience and some suggestions for the students who are working hard to learn English.

As we all know that we can get twice the result with half the effort，but how？

Of course，with a good method-a good strategy.So I will introduce English learning strategies from the following aspects- Establish confidence； Thought difference； Culture concept； Comparison and contrast.I hope they can give you some help.

First of all，we should establish confidence in the course of English learning.Why do we put it as the most important？ Because we have found that many students，who have learnt English for many years，dare not speak English.We think this is in that they are not confident enough.Some English experts，who have some contact with the overseas students，say the Chinese students pronunciation and tone are perfect，but their speaking ability is very poor.In facet，a middle school student has enough words to express himself or herself freely.We think the following figures can make you have enough confidence about it：the English BBC has reported that the number of the words that an English peasant uses all his life will be less than 1，000.There is no difference between what he says and what a great poet says in daily life.Another example is that there is a special English program called “Voice of America Special Program”，whose characteristic is that she can use only 1，500 words to express what has happened all over the world on time correctly.And if a Chinese student graduates from high school，then his words will be over 1，800，so we should have confidence in ourselves，and it is very easy to express yourself in English.A magazine，called “Open your mouth，youll succeed.” is about the importance in students job hunting.Actually it is true that “Open your mouth，youll succeed.” Therefore，you must be confident before you do everything.

The second strategy is “thinking difference” and “culture concept”.“thinking difference” refers to the difference between the native speakers and the Chinese people in thinking.For example，，many students will find it very relaxed to read “China Daily” and “The 21st Century”，but they will find that it is very hard to understand it in foreign magazine.This is caused by different thinking.Our thinking is from easy to hard，however，the native speakers will tell everything directly.

Then what is “culture concept”？ The Chinese students will think learning English is to learn the pronunciation，tone，grammar and words.But in fact it is not true.There is still another important factor---culture.So some students have excellent classroom performance，but they will be quite at a loss when they communicate with native speakers，which is created by different culture backgrounds.

But the Chinese students will ask “Are there any specific strategies to learn English well？” Of course！ This is what we are going to mention—comparison and contrast； cultural awareness； and words relationship.It is quite different for college students and children to learn English.When the children learn English，they just imitate others.But the college students are able to make comparison and contrast.They will do it in the act of learning English，and they will pause to think about the difference between Chinese and English.

Many students just remain the understanding stage，and they cant speak and write well.Why？ In fact，CET-4 just needs 100 words and CET-6 120 words.But why does it seem so difficult for college students while it is very easy？ As a rule，even as a graduate from high school can finish the composition in CET-4 and CET-6 if the teaching methods and learning methods are correct.

So where does the problem lie？ For example，some students will use “strong coffee” or “powerful coffee” to refer to “black coffee”.So some often-seen Chinese words are forbidden in English.So it is not so difficult to improve your English if you can keep making comparison and contrast.

We just mentioned the strategies of learning English-establish confidence；

thinking difference； culture concept； comparison and contrast.If you can apply them correctly，then you can get twice the result with half the effort.But this is not enough at all，you must work hard at it and have patience and insistence.
