Song Mingdao graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Hunan Normal University. Now he is a member of China Artists Association， the Vice-Chair of Changsha Artists Association， the Director of Hunan Artists Association， the Vice-President of Hunan Zhigong Painting Academy， etc. He has participated in various exhibitions and won grand prizes. Many of his artworks have been collected by collectors.

宋名道，畢業(yè)于湖南師大美術(shù)系?，F(xiàn)為中國美術(shù)家協(xié)會會員、長沙市美術(shù)家協(xié)會副主席、湖南省美術(shù)家協(xié)會理事、湖南致公畫院副院長、教授。

1989年，《共和國的希望》入選全國第七屆美術(shù)作品展，獲省優(yōu)秀作品獎；

1991年，《大地的衛(wèi)士》入選全國宣傳畫作品展，獲省銀獎；

1994年，《綠色的呼喚》入選全國第八屆美術(shù)作品展，獲省優(yōu)秀作品獎；

1999年，《渴》入選湖南省美術(shù)作品大展，獲佳作獎；

2002年，《三峽情思》入選全國（紀(jì)念毛主席在延安文藝座談會上的講話發(fā)表60周年）美術(shù)作品大展，獲省優(yōu)秀作品大獎；

2013年，《遁》在“水墨千秋”中國水墨畫大獎賽中獲中國水墨藝術(shù)大獎；

2013年，《夢故鄉(xiāng)》入選“墨韻嶺南”全國中國畫作品展。

2013年，中國美術(shù)出版社出版《當(dāng)代著名畫家宋名道作品精選》。

多幅作品被藏家收藏。
