Stock（股票） market club， German club， magic club... These are some examples of the many fun clubs at our school. What makes these clubs so special？ They are not led by teachers. From bringing up ideas to putting them into action， the students take charge of everything.

Our school recently announced that we could start our own clubs. As soon as the news spread， students took the chance. My friend and I were interested in writing. We took part in the tryouts（選拔賽） for a writing team. The competition was very fierce. We were not able to join the team. Soon we got the idea to set up a non-competitive writing club. Anyone who loves to write can join. So， we created Write Space.

First， we planned the goals of the club. We hoped that members could share their writing at regular（定期的） meetings. Members would give each other advice and make progress together. We also thought about how to invite new members and raise funds（資金）. Then we sent the proposal（方案） to the school. When the school agreed， we got a new club！

Starting a club is not easy， but leading one is harder. A fully student-run club is a good chance to develop leadership skills. For example， sometimes you need money to run a club. You can ask others to help by several ways. Here are some tips to raise money.

1. Create a fundraising（籌款） page online. Write about what you will do with the money. Share the page on social media. Donors can then help you directly.

2. Organize a bake sale. Invite friends， parents and teachers to donate some homemade food like cakes. Then you can sell them to others.

3. Recycle old things. Ask if people you know can donate old clothes or books. Then， sell them to other people at discounted prices.

There are many clubs in our school. I joined a club called Li Bai Poets Club. It is a good place for me to learn about Chinese culture.

As a club member， I swim in a sea of beautiful words. I enjoy exploring all kinds of poems and songs. I gradually understand the charm of Chinese culture.

I’m so lucky that I can join the club. Through it， I feel more confident and wiser. I am more and more interested in the beauty of poetry. We Chinese should learn Chinese culture better.
