情態(tài)動詞在Thanksgiving Party 中的應(yīng)用
——以人教版Go for it! 八年級上冊Unit 9為例

知識目標(biāo): 通過本課的學(xué)習(xí)掌握can/could在表示邀請時(shí)的提問和相應(yīng)的肯定與否定回答,同時(shí)學(xué)會用must和should描述party規(guī)則。
情感目標(biāo):了解感恩節(jié)我們應(yīng)該要做什么,知道用情態(tài)動詞禮貌地邀請他人是很重要的社交禮儀,并且知道在參加公共活動時(shí)遵守規(guī)則和秩序的重要性。
Unit 9 Can you come to my party? 這個(gè)單元的話題是參加party,語法重點(diǎn)是情態(tài)動詞can表示邀請,以Thanksgiving Party為話題展開此課。上課當(dāng)天是Thanksgiving Day, 所以,對于學(xué)生來說,這個(gè)話題是真實(shí)存在的,同時(shí)學(xué)生會對感恩節(jié)很有興趣。
步驟一: Warming-up :生活中的情態(tài)動詞。
按順序在PPT中呈現(xiàn)這兩個(gè)諺語,學(xué)生自由發(fā)言,談?wù)勊麄儗@個(gè)諺語的理解。
Friends must part. 天下無不散之筵席。
You never know what you can do till you try. 凡事試過才知道。
呈現(xiàn)完這兩個(gè)句子后,繼續(xù)告訴學(xué)生,情態(tài)動詞不僅大量存在于諺語中,而且還在大量的歌曲中可以找到,希望學(xué)生接下來可以聽歌曲找出里面的情態(tài)動詞can/could+ 動詞原形這個(gè)結(jié)構(gòu)。

步驟二: Lead in
Part 1: 首先看一段關(guān)于感謝的視頻,讓學(xué)生猜他們?yōu)槭裁匆@首歌,看完視頻后,學(xué)生可以根據(jù)歌曲中的Thank you 來猜測出唱歌的目的是為了表達(dá)感謝。此時(shí)教師繼續(xù)提問Why do they sing Thank you? Is it a special day? 學(xué)生繼續(xù)可以回答出來 Thanksgiving day!教師繼續(xù)提問:感恩節(jié)的食物是什么? Turkey. 感恩節(jié)的日期是? Nov. 26th.
教師和學(xué)生分享感恩節(jié)歌曲,聽關(guān)于感恩節(jié)派對的對話并填詞。

核對完答案之后,組織學(xué)生小組討論can/ could的用法:

(4)當(dāng)我們接受別人的邀請時(shí)可以說:_________。
當(dāng)我們委婉拒絕別人時(shí)可以說:___________。
Part 2: 旨在讓學(xué)生掌握用must/mustn’t, should/ shouldn’t描述party規(guī)則,并在情境中體會must比should的語氣要更加強(qiáng)烈。
找規(guī)律:在剛才的聽力中有兩個(gè)學(xué)生可以去參加Party,他們要去Party需要遵守什么規(guī)則呢,他們應(yīng)該做什么不應(yīng)該做什么?請學(xué)生看圖后完成句子。
(1)Students _________ arrive at the party before 7:00. We______________ be ________.
(2) Students _________________ drop litters, we _______ take out the trash after the party.
(3)Students _________ wear school uniforms. We______ wear our own clothes.
看圖談?wù)撏暌?guī)則之后,小組討論總結(jié)must和should:
談?wù)撘?guī)則時(shí):
(1)可以用________ 來表示“應(yīng)該”,可以用_________來表示“不應(yīng)該”。
(2)可以用_________來表示“必須”,可以用_________來表示“禁止”。

步驟三: 操練can, must, should的相關(guān)句型在實(shí)際生活中的應(yīng)用。
通過幸運(yùn)轉(zhuǎn)盤這個(gè)小游戲,小組派代表在電腦上啟動轉(zhuǎn)盤,轉(zhuǎn)到的分?jǐn)?shù)為小組的得分,然后該小組合作完成和Thanksgiving Party有關(guān)的情景交際的句子。
(1)Luo Xiangyu wants to come to the party with Liu Jiankun, so he can ask Liu Jiankun:“_______________ to the party with me? ”
(2)Liu Jiankun wants to go, but he has to study for the test, so he can say: “_____, ___________________ .”
(3)On the thanksgiving party, Luo Xiangyu sees a nice girl for the first time, he had better introduce himself like this:______

(4)After the party, Luo Xiangyu wants to take some food out to share with his friends, but it is not allowed. If you are the monitor you should tell him “_ _______________________________!”
步驟四: 文化滲透——Reading
旨在通過課本外的補(bǔ)充閱讀,幫助學(xué)生了解西方的感恩節(jié)文化,讓學(xué)生了解在西方國家的感恩節(jié)party上人們通常能做些什么?閱讀后學(xué)生回答相關(guān)問題。
(1)What can people do to celebrate Thanksgiving?
People can enjoy turkey, give gifts, have a picnic.
(2)Must People go to work during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
They needn’t work.
(3)Can students stay at home during the Thanksgiving Holiday?
Yes, they can.
步驟五:Writing.(Output)
根據(jù)海報(bào)中松山湖Thanksgiving Party的通知,希望學(xué)生寫一封邀請信,請他們最好的朋友來參加,并詳細(xì)告知具體活動,注意事項(xiàng)等。
