There is a growing concern about the problem of interpersonal communication among high school students. Many of them find themselves in trouble when communicating with others face to face, but feel comfortable and active when chatting on the Internet.

Actually, a variety of reasons contribute to this common phenomenon. Burdened with heavy study tasks, students hardly have any time after class to communicate with each other. Secondly, students have few chances to take part in social activities, thus not being able to improve their communicating skills.

To help students get rid of the problem, I suggest that they should seize any chance to join in social activities. That way, they will make more friends in real life. And schools should introduce communicating courses, where students can practice their skills and become confident.

The age of 18 is a watershed and opens a new chapter in our life.It means that we are adults and should bear the responsibilities for the world.

Annually, an adulthood ceremony is held in our school in March. All the students from senior three, together with their parents and teachers, attend the ceremony with the theme of gratitude and duty. At the ceremony, the students take an oath and exchange gifts with their parents, and a student representative deliver a speech on being an adult. Then they receive blessings from their parents and teachers and express their gratitude to them. In the end, they sign their names on the banner.

The adulthood ceremony is much more than an event to our students. It reminds us of our individual responsibilities as young men and women. Many parents and students are even moved to tears.

Last week, we did a survey of high school students online shopping.

26% students who often shop online say the convenience of online shopping as well as the low prices is what they like best about it. 65% students shop online occasionally only to buy something like books that local markets dont have. Besides, their parents will offer what they need in daily life. The least of them, accounting for 9%, think online shopping is a waste of money. Whats worse, it usually takes much of their study time to choose from varieties of products. Therefore, they never buy things online.

Personally, its hard for students to tell the difference between fake goods and genuine ones. Above all, students should concentrate on study and never spend more time online than necessary.

The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. However, some of the customs of spending the festival have changed over time.

Traditionally, families had a reunion dinner at home on Spring Festival Eve, while people now prefer to eat in the restaurant, enjoying various inviting dishes. In addition, some people now spend the spring holidays touring rather than visiting and greeting families and friends. And the ways to send wishes are quite different. Making a call, or sending messages through cellphone or WeChat takes the place of paying New Year visits in person.

When it comes to me, I appreciate the new ways to celebrate the Spring Festival, which keep pace with the times and allow for more colorful activities. Furthermore, festival activities like travelling now enable people to feel good both mentally and physically in non-working days.

As is illustrated in the picture, some young people have trouble getting an ideal job. When other people are working hard on computer, foreign languages and technology to get prepared, they just find all of these difficult and give up every time. As a consequence, they dont have any skills required and will surely fail to find a good job.

Opportunities are there for those who are well prepared, even though sometimes we dont know exactly what were preparing for. But one thing is for sure that learning more things will only do us good in the future.

The fast developing world needs various skills and knowledges. To adapt to the changing society, we need to be prepared. There is only one way, I think, for us to achieve this goal. That is working hard to learn as much as possible.

As is illustrated in the picture, a student, with a handheld game machine in hand, is jumping over textbooks, copy after copy. One textbook rudely asks a classic book to stay aside and give way to textbooks. Apparently, the picture indicates the fading interest in reading classics, though it is considered as an essential part of childrens growth.

There are two reasons for this phenomenon. Firstly, compared with TV shows, video games and Internet surfing, reading classics, which usually requires efforts, seems to lack the attraction to teenagers who are accustomed to strong visual impact. Secondly, the heavy study pressures force students to focus only on the textbooks. Anyway, it seems that reading classics cant help improve their grades.

I strongly suggest that the government and schools work together and set aside some special time for classics.

As is illustrated in the picture, a child, accompanied by his mother, attends different training courses without a stop. He is so tired that he cant help asking his mother where the summer vacation that he has been longing for is.

Nowadays, thousands of parents are afraid that their children may lose at the start. They sign up for a variety of training classes for their children, despite the busy school-year schedule. Children are kept on the go constantly.

Personally, it is the responsibility of the parents as well as the whole society to make sure that children grow up happily and healthily. Children are so curious about the world and they need time to explore it. Therefore, giving a happy childhood to children is of great urgency.

The cartoon is very humorous and brilliant, which shows the Chinese style of crossing the road.A crowd of people are crossing the road, whether the traffic light is green or red.

Various reasons are responsible for their conduct. Some think that the traffic will stop and make way for them when they cross the road with numerous people. Some believe that they wont be punished even if they run the red light, while others think nothing of it since they only run the red light once or twice.

Red-light running has always been ranked as a minor offense. Personally, the red-light runner shows no respect for the social rules. Whats worse, peoples lack of safety awareness harms others as well as themselves. Therefore, everyone must obey traffic rules in order to avoid accidents.

Everyone needs help now and then. However, sometimes we are too proud to ask for help. Sometimes we feel so upset and frustrated that we tend to keep those negative emotions to ourselves. Both may possibly make things worse. Actually, proper help can surely allow us to get through difficult times in an easier and better way.

When Chai Jing, now a well-known journalist, began her job, doubt and objection were casted on her. Puzzled and helpless, she turned to her teacher, who honestly pointed out her shortcomings and kindly offered solutions to her problems. Her hard work together with a little help from others finally made what she is today.

So, keep in mind that when we are struggling with something, its natural and wise to turn to others for help.

Recently, we have made a survey on students eating at the dining room. The result shows that waste of food is extremely severe. Various reasons are responsible for it.

Firstly, some students get more food than they need, much of which ends up as waste. Secondly, considering food served in the dining room is not as tasty as they expect, some students dump most of the food into garbage cans.

As high school students, we understand the value of saving food. To prevent the terrible waste, I call on all the students to join in the Eat?鄄Up?鄄Your?鄄Dishes Movement. Check your real needs before you order or dine with some of your classmates, in which way you can not only finish all, but enjoy varieties of food. Do remember every little action can make a difference.

Good afternoon, everyone! Id like to share a story of my friend, Kaikai. Like every one of us, Kaikai goes to school, plays with his friends, and enjoys playing games on the Internet. However, Kaikai lives his life in a wheel-chair, and needs to go to the hospital once a week. Wearing a smile all the time, he enjoys life above all difficulties. It is his courage and attitude to life that have a great influence on everyone around him.

His attitude is a kind of positive energy, which always brings hope to others and leads people to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone of us will meet difficulties in life, but I firmly believe that we can overcome them with positive energy.

This term our school offers us a wide variety of elective courses. There are English movie appreciation, oral communication, photography class, computer programming and so on.

My favorite course is oral communication, in which our public speaking skills are developed. In class, the teacher presents some famous talk shows for us to observe the hosts speaking pace and tones. Later we are asked to speak on Today Show, one program the teacher has planned. In this way, we begin to pay attention to develop our speaking skills. Overall, this class helps me improve my public speaking skills, thus better preparing me to enter the real world.

In my opinion, offering the elective courses could benefit students by giving them more opportunities to explore, find out their true passions and develop new interests.

As the saying goes, a good habit makes all things easy.I couldnt agree with it more. The habitual action is regularly performed, so when we form a good habit, we can make things much easier and improve the quality and efficiency of our work.

Here comes my brothers story. He once did badly in his studies and my parents sent him abroad. At the age of 24, he started reading books on success and business. Whenever he traveled in public transportation or had a rest in the park, he read books. Five years later, the power behind the good habits began to work, and he managed to write and publish books.

So please bear it in mind: Form good habits and you will benefit a lot.

Ever since I went to middle school, I have taken the proverb “No pains, no gains” as my motto. It always reminds me of the importance of hard work. Whoever he is and however intelligent he is, he must work hard in order to achieve his goals, and even he may suffer during the process.

Thomas Edison, a world famous inventor, was a good example. In his lifetime, he made more than one thousand inventions. Though he had little education, he was interested in exploring new things. He often worked day and night to solve a problem. Once he and his men were in the lab for five days without sleep, researching on a machine. Today, we still benefit a lot from his inventions.

I will follow Edisons example and work hard to realize my dream.

Dear Eric,

Im sorry to learn that you are going through hardships in your studies and feel frustrated. Its natural that one meets with difficulties in ones life. So, please dont be depressed. Actually, I think, hardship is an essential part of life, which can help us grow stronger in mind.

I guess you know about Helen Keller. Being blind and deaf shortly after her birth, she earned a degree of art and became a famous fighter for womens rights and enjoyed fame for her writing. You can imagine how many difficulties she met with just in learning to speak, let alone the ones she had in achieving so much during her life. However, she never gave up and succeeded finally. It is overcoming the hardships that made her great.

Do face the difficulties bravely, and you will surely have a bright future.
