龔寧

Yo-Yo Ma was born in Paris， France， on October 7， 1955. Hisancestral home is Ningbo， Zhejiang Province. He studied at theJuilliard School， and later graduated from Harvard University.He is an American Chinese cellist.

馬友友，1955 年10 月7 日出生于法國巴黎，祖籍浙江省寧波市，曾就讀于茱莉亞音樂學(xué)院，后畢業(yè)于哈佛大學(xué)，美國籍華裔大提琴演奏家。

Yo-Yo Mas name comes from the Chinese word “ 友”，which means “friendly”.

馬友友的名字來源于中文“友”，意思是“友好”。

Yo-Yo grew up in a family that loved music. Yo-Yo Masfather held a Doctor of Music Education. He was also a composerand conductor. He used to be a professor of National CentralUniversity（Nanjing University）; his mother， is a female vocalsinger who graduated from the art department ofNational Central University.

馬友友在一個熱愛音樂的家庭中成長。他的父親是音樂教育學(xué)博士，也是作曲家兼指揮家，曾任國立中央大學(xué)（今南京大學(xué)）教授；他的母親則是國立中央大學(xué)藝術(shù)系畢業(yè)的聲樂女歌手。

Yo-Yos father started teaching Yo-Yo the cellowhen Yo-Yo was only four years old. He hoped thatYo-Yo would be a great cello player someday.

馬友友的父親在友友只有四歲的時候就開始教他拉大提琴。他希望有一天馬友友能成為一位著名的大提琴手。

Yo-Yo learned quickly. He gave his first show when he was only five. He kept getting better and better after that.

馬友友學(xué)得很快。他在五歲時首次演出。從那以后，他變得越來越好。

Today， many people love Yo-Yos music. He still travelsaround the world playing his cello. Tickets to his shows sell outfast.

今天，許多人喜歡馬友友的音樂。他仍在世界各地演奏大提琴。他的演出門票很快就賣光了。

Yo-Yos father got his wish. Yo-Yo hasbecome one of the best cello players in the world.

馬友友的父親實現(xiàn)了自己的愿望。馬友友已經(jīng)成為世界上最好的大提琴演奏家之一。

In 2006， Yo-Yo Ma was appointed by thenUN Secretary General Kofi Annan as the UN Messenger ofPeace. Today， all the Chinese people around the world are proudof his great success.

2006 年，馬友友被時任聯(lián)合國秘書長的科菲·安南任命為聯(lián)合國和平使者。今天，全世界的華人都為之而驕傲。
