在避暑山莊碧峰門(mén)東的榛子峪北側(cè)有一座臥碑—古櫟歌碑（圖1 和圖2），坐北朝南，通高2.54 米，其中碑首高0.74 米，碑趺高0.82 米，碑身高0.98 米，寬1.98 米，厚0.4 米。面南額首和碑趺上雕刻有人物，達(dá)19 人之多，姿態(tài)神情各異，維妙維肖。面北碑首雕有祥云飛鶴，碑座上刻有水波魚(yú)龍，技藝精湛，栩栩如生。

承德御制碑刻是承德歷史文化的重要組成部分，其歷史文物價(jià)值和古典藝術(shù)價(jià)值都別具特色。此碑的碑身共刻有八首詩(shī)，《喬樹(shù)一首》刻在碑的西側(cè)， 是弘歷于乾隆五十八年七月所做，詩(shī)的大意是：

高大的樹(shù)下有美好的樹(shù)蔭，似仙境的地方才堪稱避暑勝地，停下肩輿坐在樹(shù)下，綠樹(shù)像把張開(kāi)丈余的巨傘，更何況還有清風(fēng)吹得人周身振爽，實(shí)在覺(jué)不到炎熱的痛苦。 驚訝此語(yǔ)說(shuō)錯(cuò)了，心里責(zé)問(wèn)自己，你知道忠恕嗎？只知自己而不了解別人的疾苦，這太乖離為君之道了，翹首盼望秋風(fēng)刮起來(lái)，兩天的時(shí)間也不遠(yuǎn)了，（十五之后兩日即處暑。）我為沒(méi)有辦法調(diào)節(jié)陰晴冷暖而慚愧，作為皇帝是應(yīng)該心懷仁恕的治國(guó)法度的。 （乾隆五十八年七月中旬）

喬 樹(shù) 一 首

喬樹(shù)有嘉蔭，仙境稱避暑。

停輿坐其下，繖張過(guò)丈①許。

況復(fù)透風(fēng)爽，實(shí)不覺(jué)炎苦。

咄哉此語(yǔ)失，亦思忠恕否。

知己弗知人，君道乖尤巨。

翹哉金氣行，兩日匪遙佇（望后二日即交處暑節(jié)）。

愧無(wú)術(shù)調(diào)幕，實(shí)有懷絜矩。

The Arbor Tree Poem

Tall trees have such splendid shade,

Fairly-like places resemble the famous

summer resort .

A sedan chair sitting under a tree,

The tree stretching like a big umbrella

more than one Zhang long .

With the wind blowing the whole body

feels energized and refreshed,

One can’t feel the pains of heat.

Marveling with admiration I am left

Speechless,

Also thinking of weather remaining loyal and merciful .

Knowing only oneself without understanding the pains of others,

Going against the principles of being a good monarch is an important issue .

Higher the golden air in autumn ,

Two days time is not far away .

(In two days it will be the middle of the month)

Regret not having the means to make the passing dawn stay,

Indeed I do have the aspiration of adhering to the moral standard of a monarch.
