The Largest Solid Spodumene Mine in Asia Put Into Production, With An Estimated Production Of About 30,000-ton Spodumene Concentrate This Year
The production launch ceremony of the Gyabjeka Spodumene Mine, a major new energy project in Kangding City, Ganzi Prefecture, was held in Tagong Township. As the largest solid spodumene mine in Asia, the Mine boasts an industrial-chain total investment of RMB 16 billion and an estimated annual production value of RMB 800 million and tax of RMB 104 million after it is officially put into production.
According to Lv Bin, General Manager of Ganzi Prefecture Rongda Lithium Industry Co., Ltd., the production of concentrate is expected to reach 30,000 tons this year and 70,000-80,000 tons for a full production year, and 200,000 tons/a after the beneficiation capacity is expanded to 1.05 million tons/a.
The Gyabjeka Spodumene Mine is located in the junction ofKangding, Yajiang and Daofu in Ganzi Prefecture, 145 km away from downtown Kangding. At present, the identified gyabjeka spodumene reserve is 1.8877 million tons, and the resources potential is expected to reach 3 million tons, making it the existing largest spodumene deposit in China, whose resources reserve ranks the first place in Asia and the second place in the world. Moreover, the mine with an area of 35.96 sq.km has been upgraded into a national-level package exploration zone. The available resource reserve of the Gyabjeka Spodumene Mine of Ganzi Prefecture Rongda Lithium Industry Co., Ltd. officially put into production is 28.995 million tons, and it is a rare high-grade deposit in China.
