An eleven-year-old girl, named Deepti Regmi,is from Nepal. She has the unusual ability to smell colors. She can even smell colors while blindfolded. She believes that her strange talent comes from God.It was reported that Deepti Regmi developed her unusual ability last year. And since then she has been training her brain to improve her sense of smell.
Puskar Nepal tested Regmi’s unusual ability. He said,“I checked the blindfold to make sure that she couldn’t see through it.I was really very surprised that she could smell the colors and feel the fonts with her finger easily. To my surprise, despite her young age she feels the responsibility towards the society. And she wants to help visually damaged people with her skills.”
Regmi’s parents are both teachers. Both of her parents are very happy with the rare talent their daughter has. They said,“Deepti Regmi is excellent in her studies too.If she can use her rare talent to help people in need,we will be very happy.”
According to the report,Regmi’s unusual ability comes out similar to that of the sensory disorder synaesthesia.Synaesthesia can cause people’s senses to become disorder.Across the world, one in every 5,000 people has synaesthesia, most are women, according to Boston University.

1.And since then she has been training her brain to improve her sense of smell.
2.I checked the blindfold to make sure that she couldn’t see through it.
make sure是常見的搭配形式,意為“確保,查明,確信,務(wù)必”;由make sure構(gòu)成的詞組有make sure to do sth.(確保要做某事),make sure of sth.(確保某事)等。
3.Across the world,one in every 5,000 people has synaesthesia,most are women,according to Boston University.
across the world是介詞短語,意為“世界各地,全世界”,相當(dāng)于in the world和over the world。one in every... according to是一個(gè)比較多見的介詞短語,主要用來表示“根據(jù)”某學(xué)說、某書刊、某文件等或表示“按照”某法律、某規(guī)定、某慣例、某情況等,其后原則上只接名詞或代詞,不接句子;若接句子,則用according as;但對于那些由what、which、whether、how、when、 where等引導(dǎo)的句子,其前要用according to,不用according as。
