Total Retail Sales of Cosmetics in the First Three Months of 2017

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in March 2017, the total retail sales of consumption reached RMB 2,786.4 billion, up by 10.9% year-on-year in China in March 2017. Total retail sales of cosmetics in China reached RMB 215 million with an increase of 8.7%, lower than overall consumption growth. In 2017, retail sales growth of cosmetics fell from 10.6% in February, down from 9.2%compared with the same period of last year.
