在做單項(xiàng)選擇題時(shí)，弄清語境句意是前提，同時(shí)要考慮句子的行文邏輯、結(jié)構(gòu)安排，符合英文句式的要求。請(qǐng)就下面的例子認(rèn)真體會(huì)做題思路。

一、 語境句意

（一）比較級(jí)的選擇

—The weather isnt good enough for an outing, is it?

—Not in the least. We cant have _____ at this time of the year.

A. a worse day B. a nicer day

C. such a bad day D. so fine a day

解析：句意為“ 天氣不適合郊游，是嗎？

根本不適合，天氣糟得不能再糟了?！贝鸢笧锳。

（二）時(shí)態(tài)的選擇

—Is your brother a soldier?

—No, but he _____ in the army for three years.

A.has servedB.was servingC.servedD.had served

解析：句意為“ 你哥哥是軍人嗎？ 不是，但他當(dāng)過三年兵。”是過去的事，所以選C。

（三）連接詞的選擇

Up to Tuesdays attack, the worst school shooting in the U.S. was in March 1998 in Jorehoro,_____two boys shot and killed a teacher and eight students.

He went to Beijing in 1993, ______ two years later, he became a writer.

A. where B. when C. thatD. how

解析：第一句句意為“到星期二的槍擊案為止，在美國發(fā)生的一起最嚴(yán)重的校園槍殺案是在1998年3月，在Jerohoro，當(dāng)時(shí)兩個(gè)男孩開槍殺死了一位教師和八名學(xué)生。”答案為B。第二句為：1993年他去了北京，兩年后（在那兒）成了一名作家。所以答案為A。

二、行文邏輯

（一）省略句中的還原

One of the sides should be painted yellow, and _____.

A. the other is white B. another white

C. the other whiteD. another is white

解析：選項(xiàng)A似乎符合句意，但不符合行文邏輯，前面的謂語動(dòng)詞是should be painted, and連接的應(yīng)是一致的結(jié)構(gòu)。完整的句子應(yīng)為the other side should be painted white, 為了簡潔使用了省略，所以選C。

（二）替代詞的選擇

The aging of America has made us a very different society, in which people have quite a different opinion about what kind of behavior is suitable at various ages.

A. thatB. one C. the one D. there

解析：根據(jù)句意，此處需要一個(gè)代詞，指代前面的society。形式上a very different society 是泛指，用one 來替代。選B。

（三）連接詞的選擇

Beijing was attacked by such a terrible sandstorm _____ few citizens had ever experienced before.

A. asB. and C. that D. which

解析：此題易和such...that 結(jié)果狀語從句混淆。此題選A，為as引導(dǎo)的定語從句。因?yàn)閺木渲衑xperienced 后還缺少賓語成分，先行詞前有such修飾，定語從句應(yīng)用as來引導(dǎo)，邏輯上作experienced的賓語。而結(jié)果狀語從句中that不作任何成分。

（四）謂語和非謂語的選擇

She dressed quickly and, _____ her handbag, went to work.

A. to carry B. carrying

C. carriedD. to be carried

解析：根據(jù)行文邏輯，and連接的是dressed和went兩個(gè)謂語動(dòng)詞。中間的carry是伴隨狀語。選B。
