One sunny morning, Dona Rosa arrived at the lake wearing her pearl necklace. It had nine white pearls.
“Oh, its a pearl necklace!” said her friend Mary.
“Its precious!” said Lucy.
Dona Rosa smiled. As her friends admired her lovely necklace, she thought about how good it would feel if she could share it. And that gave her an idea.
She said to her friends, “I have to go. But Ill be back.”
When Dona Rosa arrived at the store, the jeweler said, “Good morning, Dona Rosa.”
“Good morning,” said Dona Rosa. She gave the necklace to the jeweler and told him what she wanted him to do.
When the jeweler finished his work, Dona Rosa went back to the lake—with three necklaces! She gave one to each of her friends.
“Thank you!” said Mary.
“Thank you!” said Lucy.
Now everyone was wearing a lovely necklace.
