本節(jié)課的教學(xué)對(duì)象是八年級(jí)學(xué)生,他們已經(jīng)掌握了一定的語(yǔ)言知識(shí),且樂(lè)于用英語(yǔ)表達(dá)自己的觀點(diǎn),但語(yǔ)言應(yīng)用能力和高階思維能力有待提高。課堂應(yīng)以學(xué)生為主體,基于學(xué)生的年齡特點(diǎn)、認(rèn)知水平、生活經(jīng)歷和興趣愛(ài)好,設(shè)計(jì)兼具趣味性和挑戰(zhàn)性的課堂活動(dòng),激發(fā)學(xué)生參與課堂的熱情,增強(qiáng)學(xué)生的獲得感,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的學(xué)科核心素養(yǎng)。
1.通過(guò)快速閱讀,了解線上旅行的方法,并獲取文章中關(guān)于紐約的主要景點(diǎn)及景點(diǎn)特色信息。
2.通過(guò)細(xì)致閱讀,比較中西方文化差異,思考作者的寫(xiě)作意圖后,深入討論在線旅行的利與弊。
3.學(xué)會(huì)利用網(wǎng)絡(luò)獲取有用的信息,并能運(yùn)用所學(xué)介紹自己的家鄉(xiāng)。

T:Great!And I have good news for you.Our school will have a study tour around the world this summer.But we need a tour guide online.Would you like to be our guide?

本節(jié)課主題語(yǔ)境的創(chuàng)設(shè),滲透著鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生勇于嘗試、樂(lè)于展示、敢于分享的自信心培養(yǎng)策略。從標(biāo)題、前言的閱讀技巧到非連續(xù)性文本的閱讀策略,從主要景點(diǎn)的梳理到作者寫(xiě)作特色和寫(xiě)作意圖的揣摩,從對(duì)旅行方式和意義的思考到模擬導(dǎo)游的實(shí)戰(zhàn)演練,學(xué)生能從每一次的交流互動(dòng)、匯報(bào)展示中,體驗(yàn)到成功的快樂(lè),獲得進(jìn)一步學(xué)習(xí)的動(dòng)力。
本篇文章的主體部分是對(duì)紐約市曼哈頓島幾個(gè)著名景點(diǎn)的介紹。這幾個(gè)景點(diǎn)各具特色,如何讓學(xué)生通過(guò)游覽這四個(gè)景點(diǎn),體悟美國(guó)文化的精髓?
筆者利用思維導(dǎo)圖幫助學(xué)生梳理文章中提到的紐約的主要景點(diǎn)及其特色,接下來(lái)采用問(wèn)題鏈的形式層層推進(jìn),帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生深入解讀文本,緊扣“a hard day’s work”,讓學(xué)生體會(huì)紐約作為流光溢彩的國(guó)際大都市,是機(jī)遇與挑戰(zhàn)并存的,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生自主思考紐約被稱為“the Big Apple”的原因。筆者抓住教育契機(jī),將學(xué)生的思考引向更深處:How can we pick up the big apple in New York?文本內(nèi)容的深入挖掘,為課堂生成搭建了支架。筆者在帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生探究文本主題意義的過(guò)程中,潤(rùn)物無(wú)聲地做到了“以文育德”。
本文介紹的是紐約的風(fēng)景名勝,教師在引導(dǎo)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)、理解、鑒賞西方文化的同時(shí),應(yīng)教育學(xué)生講好中國(guó)故事,學(xué)會(huì)用英語(yǔ)將中國(guó)文化傳播出去,培養(yǎng)有中國(guó)根基的青少年。因此,筆者在本節(jié)課的最后環(huán)節(jié)設(shè)計(jì)了微寫(xiě)作任務(wù),讓學(xué)生用英語(yǔ)介紹自己的家鄉(xiāng)。課堂上,當(dāng)學(xué)生自豪地介紹自己家鄉(xiāng)的景點(diǎn)時(shí),那份自信讓人動(dòng)容。
整節(jié)課的設(shè)計(jì)以落實(shí)“立德樹(shù)人”為根本目標(biāo),關(guān)注學(xué)生學(xué)科核心素養(yǎng)的培養(yǎng)。也許,這不是一節(jié)完美的課,但當(dāng)學(xué)生走出課堂時(shí),他們的心中除了遠(yuǎn)方,更多的是自己生長(zhǎng)的這片土地。他們明白了只有自信、勇敢、勤奮,才能逐夢(mèng)遠(yuǎn)方。
