不同國(guó)家的文化里的語(yǔ)言文字可能不相通，握手、擁抱、鞠躬等動(dòng)作的含義也千差萬(wàn)別，但真誠(chéng)的笑容，在世界上任何地方都代表著友好與快樂(lè)。在英語(yǔ)中，除了laugh和smile， 你還能想到哪些表示笑的詞語(yǔ)嗎？今天我們就來(lái)聊一聊那許許多多的笑。

smile 是我們最常見(jiàn)的笑，是一個(gè)概括性的表述，可以表達(dá)各種心情愉悅的笑容，即面露微笑，側(cè)重于無(wú)聲。例如：

She smiled at him and he smiled back.

她沖他笑笑，他也沖她笑笑。

The best thing to do when entering unknown territory is smile.

踏入未知地帶最好的對(duì)策就是微笑。

laugh這個(gè)單詞也很常用，指因喜悅、愉快或輕視而出聲的笑或大笑、嘲笑等，它可以是各種笑聲和笑容的組合。例如：

She always makes me laugh.她老是引得我發(fā)笑。

I told him I was worried but he laughed scornfully.

我告訴他我很擔(dān)憂，可他卻輕蔑地一笑。

giggle指發(fā)出咯咯的笑聲，較多地用于女人或孩子，且有點(diǎn)兒傻笑的意思。例如：

The girls giggled at the joke.女孩子們讓這笑話逗得咯咯笑。

She knew well enough who it was， and she suppressed a giggle.

好像知道是誰(shuí)， 她忍住了不笑，也不聲張。

grin表示咧嘴笑、露齒而笑，帶有些淘氣的意味。例如：

He was grinning from ear to ear.他笑得合不攏嘴。

She grinned amiably at us.她咧著嘴向我們親切地微笑。

beam為書(shū)面用詞，指人因心情舒暢而發(fā)出的笑，即喜形于色地笑。例如：

a beaming face笑容滿(mǎn)面

He greeted me with a beam of joy.他笑容滿(mǎn)面地迎接我。

At this moment， a great-looking woman came walking into the shop， smiling like a lighthouse beam.

sneer表示冷笑或嘲笑，是對(duì)別人不尊重的一種笑容。例如：

A faint sneer of satisfaction crossed Snape’s face.

斯內(nèi)普的臉上掠過(guò)一絲得意的冷笑。

I was uncomfortable with his sneer.

他的冷笑使我很不舒服。

smirk 表示得意的笑，經(jīng)常為一邊嘴角上翹，有輕視和輕蔑的意味。例如：

Sherlock deduced the man’s occupation in 5 seconds and smirked.

夏洛克5秒鐘就推理出這個(gè)男人的職業(yè)，他得意地一笑。

“You ask？” she replied with a smirk.

“你問(wèn)我？” 她冷笑著回答說(shuō)。

snicker 指竊笑、壞笑，通常為轉(zhuǎn)瞬即逝的笑，偷偷地笑（手捂著嘴），這種笑不太得體，有失禮貌。例如：

I looked at Marry， on the seat next to me; I thought I had heard her snicker.

我看著在我旁邊座位上的瑪麗，我覺(jué)得我剛剛聽(tīng)見(jiàn)她偷笑了。

She almost smiled， but it turned into a snicker.

她幾乎笑出來(lái)，卻化做一絲竊笑。
