In Nonsenseland, the grass is blue and the trees are red. And all the cars have square wheels.

Easy! So they don't roll away when they are parked on a hill.

I know, what nonsense!

And in Nonsenseland they hold a sports day every summer.

This year, the preparations for the sports day started two weeks before the event and, it being Nonsenseland,things happened somewhat differently to how you would have expected.

今年，運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)的準(zhǔn)備工作兩個(gè)星期前就開始了。因?yàn)檫@里是荒唐王國(guó)，事情跟你們預(yù)期的多多少少有點(diǎn)兒不一樣。

Little Miss Scatterbrain got the sports field ready.

Mr Dizzy marked out the track for the races.

The day of the Nonsenseland

Sports Day dawned to a great deal of excitement.

All the Mr Men were there,and no one was more excited than Mr Rush who was at the sports day for the very first time.

荒唐王國(guó)運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)終于開始了，大家都很興奮。所有的人都來(lái)了，最激動(dòng)的要數(shù)匆忙先生了，他可是第一次參加荒唐王國(guó)的運(yùn)動(dòng)會(huì)。

He couldn't wait for the last event of the day. The 100 metre sprint①sprint 短跑，沖刺，賽跑。.

But for the first time in his life he did wait.

他等不及要參加最后一個(gè)比賽項(xiàng)目。100 米賽跑。

這還是他這輩子第一次耐下心來(lái)等待呢。

There were lots of other events to watch first.

However, as each one came and went, Mr Rush became more and more confused.

先要觀看許多其他的比賽項(xiàng)目。

然而，隨著一個(gè)個(gè)比賽開始又結(jié)束，匆忙先生越來(lái)越摸不著頭腦了。

The high jump had become the low jump and was won by Mr Small.

And the long jump was the short jump.Won by Little Miss Tiny.

跳高變成了跳矮，獲勝的是小小先生。

跳遠(yuǎn)變成了跳近，袖珍小姐得了第一。

Throwing the hammer became throwing the jelly.

Won by Mr Strong, whose jelly went a bit further than he intended it to!

擲鏈球變成了扔果凍。

強(qiáng)壯先生獲勝，他的果凍飛得比預(yù)期的還要遠(yuǎn)一點(diǎn)兒！
