Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd. Develops the Metal Materials for Aircraft Engines

Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd. has signed a joint venture agreement with a subsidiary of Aero Engine Corporation of China, proposing to establish a JV to engage in the R&D and production of special aerial metal materials. Presently, the JV project is under smooth progress, with focus on R&D of grapheme modified material and metal rhenium, and initial trial production of high temperature alloy material for aircraft engines.

In recent years, Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Holding Co., Ltd. has strengthened the transformation and upgrading and developed the high-end copper products. On December 30, 2017, the Section I of Stage I of ultrathin electronic copper foil for high-precision stored energy project with annual capacity of 20,000 ton entered trial production, and the lithium battery copper foil produced is 6 μm, the thinnest in China. The “Aolu reconstruction project” under way adopted the global advanced production technology of Aolu + intelligent NC converter + rotary anode furnace and perfect acid making technology, and the main product cathode copper adopted the PC production technology. The construction of the project not only formed a complete processing system covering high-, mid- and low-grade copper-bearing materials, but also properly solved the environmental issue via innovative technology, setting a benchmark for the construction of more green, ecological and efficient copper smelters in China in the future. After the Aolu reconstruction project is put into operation, the technical-economic indicators and cost of production were significantly better than those of the original production system, including total sulphur collecting ratio of up to 99.9%, water recycling ratio of over 97.86%, cathode copper processing cost reduction by 18%, sulfuric acid production cost reduction by 35%, and total energy consumption reduction by 2,070 ton standard coal. Located near the “Shuangshan Project”, Aolu project complements with Shuangshan Project to form a leading cathode copper smelting plant. In addition, more and more members of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group have become industry leaders. For example, the 6μm lithium battery copper foil independently developed by Tongguan Copper Foil is leading in the industry, C194 and C7025 high-end alloy strips produced by Jinwei Copper has gradually become independent of import, and the flash smelting technology featured by high output and low energy consumption of Jinguan Copper broke the technological monopoly of foreign peers.

According to public information, the 13th Five-year Plan of Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group will focus on high-end copper products, accelerate the development of nonferrous metals industry, and develop the modern service industry centering on financial trade, aiming to realize operating income of RMB 200 billion, total assets of RMB 100 billion, market capitalization of RMB 100 billion and total profit of RMB 5 billion, and overall listing of the Group and becoming a Fortune 500 member, by 2020.
