Background Household differentiation is a prominent phenomenon in the process of urbanization in China. In the field of agricultural economy, the researches always focus on the aspects as land size, land system and land transfer, but they often ignored the farmer differentiation impacting on the willingness of flowing and behave of forestland outflow. So this study will be used as a starting point for research.
Methods The data were obtained from 496 valid questionnaires of 506 households of 5 cities in Fujian Province.Bivariate probit model was used to establish the model of farmland outflow willingness and behave ,then proving the impact of farmer differentiation on forest land circulation. This paper analyzed the influence factors between willingness of farmland outflow and behave of farmland outflow. The model 1 examines the effect of farmers’ income differentiation on the willingness and outflow of forest land. The model 2 examines the farmers’ occupational differentiation impacting on the willingness and outflow of forest land. The model 3 takes into account the differences in farmers’ occupational differentiation and the impact of farmers’ occupational differentiation.
Results The willingness of farmer take a significant positive effect on moving forward for the farmland outflow. The results show that the co-industry can promote the effective supply of forest land and promote the circulation of forest land. The non-agricultural occupation has a significant positive effect. The farmer's outflow behavior has a significant positive effect on the occupational farmer. This result shows that the greater the farmers’ rate of leaving the farm, the stronger the willingness to flow out of the woodland and the coincidence. The annual income of farmers has no significant effect on the willingness of forest landfall and the coefficient is negative,so this result indicating that the higher the level of the village, the more reluctant to flow out of the woodland. From the influence of absolute value level, the significant variables that affect the willingness of outflow from high to low are:non-agricultural occupation, engaged in farming, forestry and forestry industry, there is no subsidies, whether the village cadres, whether forestry training, harvesting index have no difficulty, family forest land number, education level, age and the area of arable land. The significant variables that affect the outflow of forest land from high to low are:whether the forest right mortgage loan,non-agricultural occupation, farming and forestry industry, whether there is no training, forestry subsidies, farmers' income levels, labor, age, level of education.
Conclusions and Discussions The degree of occupational differentiation of farmers has an important influence on the willingness and outflow of forest land. The non-agricultural occupation has a significant positive effect on the willingness of farmland and the outflow of forest land. Therefore, the division of farmer employment can promote the flow of forest land.In addition, the farmers’ willingness to flow out of the forest will have a strong influence on the actual outflow behavior, the stronger the willingness of the farmers to flow out of the forest, the more prone to outflow behavior.Above all,3 suggestions were propounded:first one, increasing the diversified income channels for farmers to promote the transfer of rural surplus labor force and the flow of forest land;secondly, establishing the system would be conducive to the transfer of rural labor force and reform the existing household registration management system;thirdly, famers should strengthen forestry skills training. However, only from the micro-perspective analysis of farmer differentiation of forest land will and behavior of the situation, simply study the supply of woodland market, has not yet studied the demand for woodland market, the next will further study the balance of demand for forest land supply.
