Netflix plans to go global in 2016 and add a number of foreign markets including China, India, and Indonesia. In all, the streaming service hopes to add 100 new countries over the next year. If everything goes according to plan, Netflix will earn than $500 million in net profits in 2017. However, to reach these numbers, Netflix must break into the Asia market. The Chinese market is the key to Netflix’s success in the Asian market. There are many competitors already dominating the Chinese market including Alibaba’s Youku, and Baidu and Tencent’s video steaming services.

The United Kingdom has become the third largest exporter of online goods in the world, second to the United States and China, according to statistics released by PayPal. The biggest factor in the growth of the UK’s online export market is the number of buyers from China. In the past 12 months, 86.4 million international buyers have purchased British goods online. Of these, 21.9 million were Chinese. The second largest group of spenders were Americans, a small group compared to the Chinese at 9.1 million.
