In 2016, Hangzhou JR Exhibition Company is celebrating the eleventh-year anniversary of its foundation. From the very first beginning, the company has been known as an agent for overseas exhibitions, especially in the fields including motor and automation parts, commercial vehicles, LED lighting products, hardware and fasteners. Few may know that, however, JR has repositioned itself as “a turn key exhibition” service provider since a few years earlier.
In the past years, JR has been plowing deeply in the exhibition industry and in the mean time continuously considering how to meet the ever increasing customer demands. With this mindset, JR proposed the “big exhibition” service concept and put it into practice. For instance, some exhibitors focus on brand building, JR then founded a dedicated team to provide booth and pavilion design build service for them; some exhibitors prefer tailormade business travel routes, JR also has a team to meet this demand. In the future, Chan reveals, JR may also further expand into more diversified service scopes to meet growing customers’needs.
So far, JR has three exhibition divisions and four display design divisions to meet the specified requirements of exhibitors from different industries. In the future, the company may also set up a business travel division which provides tailor-made travel services to exhibitors.
The foundation of JR Display Design Division in 2012 also reflected the strategy of closely following customer demands. This division is divided into different sections according to which industries the end customers come from. In this way, the staffs are able to provide design and build solutions specifically in line with the exhibitors’ products. In addition, JR has gathered reliable suppliers resources in design and build in almost all major countries from agent businesses in the past ten years, and this proves to be another key factor why exhibitors choose JR.
From the early start, JR was able to strike strategic cooperation relationship with leading organizers like Messe Frankfurt. Today, JR’s business partners include many international exhibition organizers and industry associations. Chan observes that the key to such relationships is value creating and mutual communication, and that since organizers and agents share the common goal of promoting global trade of the exhibitors, the cooperation between both sides becomes a happy process.
Within the company, Chan sees the effectiveness of encouraging staff and sharing success with them, not by hiring more people, but by inspiring the motivation and potential of current staff. In the future, JR will still focus on the exhibition industry but gradually broaden into different divisions within the industry. Led by the “open, sharing, experience and helping others”mindset, JR will try its best to become “the most respectable exhibition company” in China.
