From April 18 to April 21, 2015, the Straits Textile Clothing Fair (STCF) was held in Shishi, a famous city for casual wear in China. As a national and international textile and clothing grand fair, various and unique supporting activities were held in this fair. The STCF has become the best professional fair in local area.
The STCF was jointly organized by Fujian Provincial Peoples Government, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China National Textile and Apparel Council, China National Garment Association, China Fashion Association, Taiwan Textile Federation, Taiwan Knitting Industry Association, Taiwan Garment Industry Association, and Taiwan Sweater Industry Association. Peoples Government of Quanzhou City and Peoples Government of Shishi City are in charge of specific works.
Introduction of Shishi City
Shishi is located at the southeast coast of Fujian Province and south bank of Quanzhou Bay. As the Chinas famous city for casual wear, Shishi is located at the west coast of Taiwan Strait, adjacent to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, enjoying the unique regional advantages.
Standing at a new starting point, Shishi accelerates the Chinese mainland and Taiwan construction and development around the Quanzhou Bay, makes industries, ports, and cities become big- ger and stronger, speeds up planning and construction progress of modern and elite city where is suitable for industrial development and peoples life, and promotes the leapfrog development of Shishi in a new round.
Better-off relationship between Shishi and textile clothing
After 18 years development, the STCF, taking the textile clothing as the theme and highlighting the feature of cross-strait economic and trade cooperation, has become a textile and clothing professional and grand fair in China with large scale, high level, and high influences. In addition, it has become a platform combining financial products and information, economy and culture, production and consumption, west coast and east coast, international and domestic trend, as well as theory and practice. It has profound accumulation and huge human relations, information, and resource networks. It is not only a fair, but also a strong upward force that cannot be ignored including integrating industrial resources and promoting the development of the entire industry, enhancing the enterprises brands value, leading the fashion trend, promoting the transition and upgrade of Chinas garment, and achieving the breakthrough in terms of value.
By holding the fair, Shishi Municipal Committee and Government spare no efforts to cultivate and enhance the city cultural vitality as well as promote the city upgrading. During the STCF, the target of "Creating brands for famous garment city" was publicized through successfully holding the following activities including "Shishi Garment City Promotion Conference", "Leisure Tourism Forum", and "Southern Fujian Garment Culture Exhibition" and reports from different media. Because the government attaches great importance to this industry and the project planning is far-sighted with creative spirits, it is a good opportunity to improve citys attractiveness, build up citys brands and achieve citys marketing strategy.
Driven by the STCFs holding, a batch of key projects have been completed and put into use, which improves citys grade. Meanwhile, the comprehensive environment including communications& transportation, post & telecommunications and communications, financial service, tourism reception, port inspection, recreation and shopping, as well as personnel quality training has become better and better. The STCF speeds up the city development. Shishi has been confirmed as a center city for "Southern Fujian Garment", center city for the Quanzhou Bay and ports, coastal tourism & leisure city for commerce and trade as well as the"Battlefront" for opening up and Taiwan exchanges. The STCF shows Shishis economic, cultural and technological level to the people and displays Shishis good images in terms of opening up and good development prospects. It has become a famous brand of Shishi. Due to the STCF, Shishi becomes a shining pearl in the economic zone on the western coast of the Taiwan.
Three spots lighten the fair
While on this edition, the fair presented three highlights surprising every visitor.
Opportunities swarmed into the city
This edition, Shishi tries to extend itself to develop and increase force in textile industry. There were 471 enterprises exhibited the show, and the area covered over 50,000 square meters. During the days, it showed the advantages of whole industrial chain, promoted the thought of green, tech-innovation, and functional products, and released new trend for 2016.
Besides, there were three floors for exhibiting. The first one was offered to Taiwan pavilion and “Internet +”; the second one was used for the innovative fabrics & clothes, and also for trend releases; the third was occupied for colleges and universities to share their graduates works.
The idea of “Innovation + Originality + Production + Startup”
Innovation: from traditional resale to cloud platform, and from apparel manufacture to the whole industrial chain, Shishi has been walking his way onto innovation;
Originality: the fair works with excellent designers to build Innovative Ladder, and establish Shishi Designers Association;
Production: many local brands have been dedicated themselves to R&D for competitive products;
Startup: Shishi released "entrepreneurial project" this year, trying to help people start his own business.
