Vienna, the capital of Austria, is a world-famous cultural city. It is famous as the City of Music for its beautiful music, the City of Architecture for its splendid and unique buildings, the City of Culture for its long history, and the City of Decoration for its exquisite decoration. 維也納是奧地利首都和享譽(yù)世界的文化名城,它既有“音樂(lè)之都”的盛譽(yù),又有以雄偉壯觀、風(fēng)格各異的建筑而贏得的“建筑之都”的美稱;又以歷史悠久被稱為“文化之都”;以精妙絕倫的裝飾而被稱為“裝飾之都”。
Vienna is one of the four official stations of the United Nations. It is also the place where headquarters of OPEC( Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries), OSCE (Organization for the Security and Cooperation in Europe) and IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) locate. 維也納是聯(lián)合國(guó)的四個(gè)官方駐地之一,以及石油輸出國(guó)組織、歐洲安全與合作組織和國(guó)際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)的總部所在地。
The Goddess of the Danube 多瑙河的女神
Vienna is known as the Goddess of the Danube. For the Danube winds through the city, and the scenery is picturesque all the year round. Vienna faces the Danube Basin in the east. In the north of Vienna there is a wide grassland, looking like a grand green felt. And the Danube winds through the grassland. 維也納有“多瑙河的女神”之稱。多瑙河流貫市內(nèi),一年四季風(fēng)景如畫。城東面對(duì)多瑙河盆地。北面寬闊的草地宛如一塊特大綠色絨氈,碧波粼粼的多瑙河蜿蜒穿流其間。

Vienna is always connected with music. The New Year Concert in Vienna has become an international music banquet. Musicians like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert all spent most of their music career in Vienna. 維也納的名字始終是和音樂(lè)連在一起的。維也納的新年音樂(lè)會(huì)已成為國(guó)際性的音樂(lè)盛會(huì)。許多音樂(lè)大師,如海頓、莫扎特、貝多芬、舒伯特都曾在此度過(guò)多年音樂(lè)生涯。
