The writers purpose in writing this story is.或The writer tells this story. 或What is the best title of the passage?為設問方式,其答案往往為to tell an interesting experience或An unusual experience。

When…said “…”,what…meant was.或The man said “…” to.

這種試題往往以He was a very. 或What kind of man would you say the man was?或What is the character of the man? He is a funny man.或He is a humourous man.

Which of the following is the most likely answer of the…?或What will the…answer?或The answer of the…will be.

Which of thefollowing might have happened afterwards?或What will happen at the end of the story?或What will happen later?

Two months ago, I went to Australia for a meeting with my workmate, Chris. We decided to drive across the country to Brisbane after the meeting ended. The drive was going to take four days and most of it was across the desert[沙漠].

The first day was a lot of fun as we were excited and laughing at each others jokes. By the third day of driving in the desert, we began to get bored. We had been quiet for a few hours when Chris saw some kangaroos[袋鼠]. We were both excited and decided to get a closer look. Chris drove very quickly to catch up with the kangaroos. We got closer and closer—too close—when we heard a loud BANG!

Chris stopped the car and we got out. Behind the car was a large kangaroo lying completely still[不動的] on the ground. Chris went over to the kangaroo and put his baseball cap on its head. He took off his sunglasses and put them on the kangaroo and did the same with his jacket. Then, he put his arm around the kangaroo and told me to take a photo of them together. I took out my camera. While I was focusing[調整焦距] the camera, I saw the kangaroo move. It suddenly wokeup, and ran away before we could do anything.

One night I was sitting in my room half listening as my 15 years old brother Tommy fought with my 12 years old brother Kevin. I didnt pay attention when Kevin rushed up the stairs with the hurt on his face.

About 20 minutes later, as I was walking upstairs I heard Kevin crying inside the bathroom. I knocked on the door and a sked, “Hey Kevin, do you want to talk?”

No answer.

I tried again, “Why dont you come out of there?”

Again, no answer.

So, joking around, I grabbed astack of[一摞] cards and a pencil and wrote, “If you dont want to talk, we can write notes to each other.”

An hour later I was still sitting on the floor outside the bathroom with two stacks of cards in front of me.
