Ryan Reynolds voices a snail named Turbo， who， after a freak[反常的] accident gives him superspeed， tries to fulfill his dream of entering the Indianapolis 500注. So how exactly do you get Reynolds to play a snail？“I pitched[投，擲] him the idea just after he became Peoples sexiest man of the year，” says director and co-writer David Soren. “I was very nervous， but the very first thing out of his mouth was‘I cant wait to be a snail！”
Other actors keen[熱切渴望的] to get their shell on include Maya Rudolph， Snoop Lion， and Samuel L. Jackson， who play a group of gung ho[同心協(xié)力] racing snails. Since the real-life Indy 500 is raced by people in cars rather than by mollusks[軟體動物]， the film features human characters like racing champ[冠軍] Guy Gagné （Bill Hader） and a taco[墨西哥玉米卷] salesman voiced by Michael Pe？a.
But how will Turbo go down[被接受] in France， where people are more accustomed[習(xí)慣的] to eating snails than cheering them on？ “Well， if it works， I feel sorry for some restaurant owners who have escargot[（法語）食用蝸牛] on the menu，” says Soren. “They may lose some business.”
