1.Long ago，there lived an Emperor.He only thought about his clothes.He had a lot of clothes.The Emperor spent hours getting dressed every day.很久以前有一位皇帝。他只關(guān)心他的衣服。他有很多很多衣服。這位皇帝每天要花幾個(gè)小時(shí)穿衣打扮。

2.The news finally came to the ears of two cheats.They were too excited and then they left their hometown and traveled a long way to the Emperor’s city.這個(gè)消息最后傳到了兩個(gè)騙子的耳朵。他們離開家鄉(xiāng)，來(lái)到了皇城。

3.They came to the gate of the kingdom and asked to meet the Emperor.They told the official，“We have invented a magic cloth.”他們來(lái)到城墻腳下，要求見(jiàn)皇帝。“我們發(fā)明了一種有魔力的布料。”他們告訴一個(gè)官員。

4.The official told the news to the Emperor.The Emperor said，“Oh，I love new things，and show the two weavers in.”這個(gè)官員把這個(gè)消息告訴了皇帝?；实壅f(shuō)道：“哦！我喜歡新事物，把這兩個(gè)織工帶進(jìn)來(lái)吧?！?/p>

5.One weaver said to the Emperor，“It is gold，silver and rainbow colored.It feels like silk，but it is as warm as wool.”一個(gè)織工對(duì)皇帝說(shuō)，“它有著金、銀和彩虹的色彩，摸起來(lái)像絲綢一樣光滑，但和羊毛一樣暖和?！?/p>

6.The second said，“It is as light as air，and it can examine who is clever and who is fit for his office.Those who are not clever enough or unfit for his office can not see it.But the cloth is very expensive to make.”另外一個(gè)說(shuō)道：“它像空氣一樣輕。最神奇的是它能檢驗(yàn)誰(shuí)是聰明的、誰(shuí)是稱職的。那些不夠聰明或不夠稱職的人是看不見(jiàn)的。但是這種布料織起來(lái)很貴?！?/p>

7.“No problem，”said the Emperor，waving his hand，“Make it here in the palace soon.”Hearing these，the two weavers smiled happily.“沒(méi)問(wèn)題，”皇帝揮揮手說(shuō)道，“馬上在皇宮里織吧?！甭?tīng)到這些，兩個(gè)織工開心地笑了。

8.The official showed the two weavers to a large airy room.They asked for a loom and a sack of gold.And soon they started to work on the magic cloth.官員把兩個(gè)織工帶到一個(gè)大房間，他們要了一個(gè)織布機(jī)和一大袋金子，便開始工作了。

9.News of the magic cloth had spread.Now everyone in the city was talking about the magic new clothes of Emperor’s.有關(guān)具有神奇魔力的布料的消息傳開了。城里的每個(gè)人都在議論皇帝這件神奇的新衣服。

10.Finally，the Emperor couldn’t wait any longer.He said to an official，“Go to the weavers and see how the cloth is processing.The parade is only a week away.”最后，皇帝實(shí)在是等不及了。他對(duì)一個(gè)大臣說(shuō)道：“去那兩個(gè)織工那里看看布料編織的進(jìn)展情況。游行只有一個(gè)星期了?！?/p>

11.“Is it not beautiful?”said one of the weavers，holding out nothing to the official.“See the color，and feel the softness! ”“Um，”said the official，not quite sure what to say.“漂亮嗎？”一個(gè)織工說(shuō)道，其實(shí)什么也沒(méi)給官員看?！翱催@色彩，感覺(jué)一下它的柔滑?！薄班?，”官員真不知道說(shuō)什么好。

12.“Oh，wise official，”said the other weaver.“Now you can see why it is magical.Most people would see an empty loom，but a clever man like you will see our wonderful cloth.”“Of course，”said the official，not wanting to look stupid.“It is really wonderful.”“多么聰明的官員啊，”另一個(gè)織工說(shuō)道?！澳惆l(fā)現(xiàn)它的神奇了吧。大多數(shù)人可能只看到空的織布機(jī)。但是像你這么聰明的人肯定能夠看到我們這奇妙的布料的。”“當(dāng)然”，官員說(shuō)道，他可不想被認(rèn)為自己是傻瓜。“真是太美妙了！”

13.The Emperor was glad to hear the news.After 2 days he sent another minister to the weavers’room.The same thing happened.The minister couldn’t see anything，but he told the emperor the cloth was really beautiful.皇帝聽(tīng)到這個(gè)消息十分高興。兩天后，他又派另一名大臣去了解情況。同樣的事情發(fā)生了。大臣什么都沒(méi)有看見(jiàn)，但是他告訴皇帝，布料美妙極了。

14.Finally，the emperor went to see it himself.He saw the empty loom.“Why!”he cried in a surprised voice.At the same time，the emperor was a little surprised.最后，皇帝親自去看。他看著空的織布機(jī)?！疤炖?！”他驚異地叫道。同時(shí)，他也感到很驚訝。

15.The two officiasl said quickly，“Our wise emperor can surely see the colors and patterns of this magical cloth.”那個(gè)官員說(shuō)道，“陛下，我們聰明的皇帝肯定可以看到這種魔力布匹的色彩和圖案。”

16.“Of course I can，”said the Emperor，wondering why he could not.“It’s beautiful! When can I have my new clothes?”“Your Majesty，”said the two weavers，“We will make the suit as soon as possible.”“我當(dāng)然能夠看見(jiàn)了?！被实壅f(shuō)道，心里迷惑著為什么自己看不見(jiàn)呢?！胺浅Ｆ痢Ｎ沂裁磿r(shí)候可以穿上我的新衣服呢？”“皇帝陛下，”兩個(gè)織工說(shuō)道，“我們將盡快做好?！?/p>

17.The suit was finished.All his officials said it was truly marvelous!The Emperor was dressed in his new suit and ready for the parade.The people of the town all waited along the sides of the streets.衣服做好了。所有的官員都說(shuō)真是美極了?；实鄞┥闲乱路?zhǔn)備游行了。城里所有的人都在街邊等著。

18.The parade began! The people gasped.“What a suit! ”they cried.“What suit?”asked a small boy，“The Emperor has no clothes on at all! ”游行開始了！人們歡呼著：“太漂亮了！”“什么衣服?。俊币粋€(gè)小男孩叫道，“皇帝根本就沒(méi)有穿衣服??！”

19.“It’s true! No clothes! The Emperor is naked! ”the people cried.And the Emperor was very ashamed.But he thought since the parade had started，it should continue.“是的，沒(méi)有衣服！皇帝是光著身子的！”人群中叫開了?；实凼中呃ⅰ５撬胗涡屑热灰呀?jīng)開始了，就繼續(xù)下去吧。
