A fresh haircut and a professionalshave can make anyone feel like amillionaire. Anil ?akmak understands thisfeeling better than most. Hes a barber atThe Chuck Muck, a shop in Istanbul,Türkiye. Recently, he met a homeless mannamed Hayri, who only ever asked him foran occasional cup of hot tea or coffee oncold days.
Anil enjoys making videos of some ofthe incredible hair transformations he saw,and one day he got the idea to offer Hayrithe same experience for free.“I asked andexplained my idea about a transformation,a haircut, barber treatment, and new clothes, but he rejected my offer,” Anil said.“Suddenly, the day after, he came and saidhe was OK for it.”
The barber couldnt wait to get star?ted! Of course, washing and straighteningHayris hair was not an easy task. Years ofliving on the streets had turned it into asnarl of grime and knots (一堆污垢和結(jié)).Hayri couldnt even remember the last timehed had a trim (修剪), let alone a profe?ssional cut in a nice barbershop.
When Anil finished snipping andstyling his hair, Hayri looked like a totallydifferent person! Best of all, by the timethey were done, Hayri seemed to feelbetter, cleaner, and more loved than he didwhen he walked inside.
Later, Anil explained that he didntmake the sweet offer for himself. Instead,he was hoping he touched Hayris heartand showed him the respect and dignity hedeserves.
