Lets befriend each other over coffee, and spread warmth throughout this city; let coffee bridge our souls with solace and comfort; through coffee, lets explore the world of new youth ... From April 26 to 28, the 2023 Chongqing International Coffee Festival was staged on Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. It was organized by the Peoples Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing, and jointly undertaken by the Commission of Commerce of Yuzhong District, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Peoples Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing, the Management Committee of Jiefangbei Central Business District, Yuzhong District Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Yuzhong District Federation of Trade Unions under the guidance of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Peoples Government. At the same time, the Tropical Coffee Party Chongqing—sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Peoples Government and the Peoples Government of Yuzhong District, Chongqing—was held as scheduled.
The event was graced by the presence of Aldo ?lvarez, the Salvadoran Ambassador to China; Diana Polanco, Consul General of the Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador to China; Pedro Hayem, Commercial Counselor of the Republic of El Salvador to China; Jonathan Javier, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Panama to China; Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal Government; Huang Maojun, Mayor of Yuzhong District, Chongqing; and responsible persons of relevant authorities. Aldo ?lvarez delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, introducing the development situation of El Salvadors coffee industry and expressing expectations for future cooperation between the two sides.
Against the backdrop of efforts to “unblock the domestic economic cycle and promote both domestic and international economic cycles”, as well as stabilize growth and stimulate consumption, the activity aimed to fully leverage Chongqings advantageous location to connect international consumption resources and create an environment for global consumption. Our goal is to accelerate the gathering and integration of international coffee brands, leading-edge drinks, high-end industries, and other resources in Yuzhong District. By doing so, we aim to establish world-renowned international coffee festival IPs, which will contribute to the development of Yuzhong District as the core area of an international consumption central city.
Themed “Kaweh, Essential in a Cozy City”, this years festival attracted both domestic and international coffee industry chain brands, creating a grand event for the whole coffee industry chain. It not only received active support from domestic and foreign trade associations such as the Asian Coffee Association, China Coffee Association Beijing, and the Coffee Association of Yunnan but also invited trade institutions from more than 10 countries including EI Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Brazil, Mexico, and Kenya, as well as more than 20 international brands including Swedens OATLY CN LOGO and CREM, Frances MONIN, Americas Starbucks, and Singapores chain coffee brand TAG ESPRESSO, which launched their new summer-themed products.
A total of 120 coffee brands from 17 Chinese provinces and cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Inner Mongolia—including Hunans Modern China Tea Shop, Beijings HALF COFFEE, Chongqings time-honored coffee brand Ugly Monkey CAFE, Zhejiangs Yixi Zhidi, Inner Mongolias Youjia, and Yunnans Encore Coffee—also made appearances at the festival.
Additionally, the festival brought together coffee suppliers and buyers from around the globe, convening procurement conferences and coffee-related activities to further enhance the exchanges and cooperation over coffee culture and establishing an international platform for showcasing and exchanges.
Noteworthy, on top of the coffee, this years festival also featured baked desserts, trendy floriculture, and more. With coffee as the carrier, it extended to many other fields by inviting a variety of cross-industry brands with exquisite types of business, rich content, and diverse forms, to present a multi-faceted and fun coffee festival for citizens.
During the festival, the organizer held the Chongqing International Coffee Festival Latin American Coffee Fair, part of the “Tropical Coffee Party Chongqing” series of activities. Coffee companies from El Salvador and Panama were invited to promote their coffee beans. Coffee fans meetings in El Salvador and coffee cup tester activities of El Salvador and Panama were simultaneously held, to facilitate international coffee trade and advance the sustainable development of the coffee industry.
According to Aldo ?lvarez, coffee culture is an integral part of Latin American culture and acts as one of the major industries in the region. Therefore, it plays a crucial role in the local economy and trade.? Coffee exports used to account for a quarter of El Salvadors foreign trade. He added that he was very glad to bring high-quality coffee from El Salvador to Chongqing and believed that Chinese people would like it. Pedro Hayem and Jonathan Javier promoted the coffee beans and coffee products of their countries, respectively.

薩爾瓦多駐華大使阿爾多·阿爾瓦雷斯、薩爾瓦多駐華大使館總領(lǐng)事戴安娜·波蘭科、薩爾瓦多駐華大使館商務(wù)參贊佩德羅·哈耶姆、巴拿馬駐華大使館商務(wù)參贊強納森,市政府外辦主任王雯,渝中區(qū)區(qū)長黃茂軍以及相關(guān)單位負責(zé)人等出席活動。阿爾多·阿爾瓦雷斯在開幕式上致辭,介紹薩爾瓦多咖啡產(chǎn)業(yè)的發(fā)展情況,并對雙方未來的合作表達期待。
活動旨在“暢通國內(nèi)大循環(huán),促進國內(nèi)國際雙循環(huán)”和穩(wěn)增長促消費大背景下,充分發(fā)揮重慶區(qū)位優(yōu)勢,鏈接國際消費資源、營造國際消費環(huán)境,進一步推進國際咖啡品牌、潮流飲品、高端產(chǎn)業(yè)等資源要素在渝中區(qū)集聚融合,打造世界知名的國際咖啡節(jié)活動IP,助力渝中區(qū)國際消費中心城市核心區(qū)建設(shè)。
本屆咖啡節(jié)以“城市溫度 啡嘗Kaweh”為主題,匯聚了國際、國內(nèi)咖啡產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈品牌,構(gòu)建了咖啡全產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈?zhǔn)?,不僅得到亞洲咖啡協(xié)會、北京咖啡行業(yè)協(xié)會、云南省咖啡行業(yè)協(xié)會等國內(nèi)外行業(yè)協(xié)會的積極響應(yīng),還邀請到薩爾瓦多、巴拿馬、洪都拉斯、巴西、墨西哥、肯尼亞等10余個國家的貿(mào)易機構(gòu),以及瑞典咖啡品牌OATLY CN LOGO和CREM、法國咖啡品牌MONIN、美國咖啡品牌星巴克、新加坡連鎖咖啡品牌TAG ESPRESSO等20余個國際品牌參展,帶來夏季力推新品。
北京、上海、云南、四川、內(nèi)蒙古等國內(nèi)17個省、市、自治區(qū)的120個品牌商家也在節(jié)會上集體亮相,包括湖南咖啡品牌茶顏悅色、北京咖啡品牌HALF COFFEE、重慶老牌咖啡品牌奇丑的猴子、浙江咖啡品牌一席之地、云南咖啡品牌諳客咖啡等。
此外,本屆咖啡節(jié)還邀請多個國家的咖啡供應(yīng)商、采購商齊聚重慶,通過采購大會及相關(guān)咖啡活動,進一步深化咖啡文化的交流合作,搭建起一個展示及交流的國際舞臺。
值得一提的是,本屆國際咖啡節(jié)不只有咖啡,還有烘焙甜品、潮玩花藝等,以咖啡為載體延伸到更多行業(yè)領(lǐng)域,邀請到業(yè)態(tài)精致、內(nèi)容豐富、形式多樣的跨界品牌參與,為市民呈現(xiàn)一場多元趣味的咖啡節(jié)。
節(jié)會期間,主辦方舉辦了拉美咖啡繽紛匯系列活動之重慶國際咖啡節(jié)拉美咖啡采洽會,邀請薩爾瓦多、巴拿馬咖啡商推介本國咖啡豆,并同期舉辦薩爾瓦多咖啡粉絲見面會和薩爾瓦多、巴拿馬咖啡杯測活動,推動國際咖啡貿(mào)易,促進咖啡產(chǎn)業(yè)可持續(xù)發(fā)展。
薩爾瓦多駐華大使阿爾多·阿爾瓦雷斯介紹,咖啡文化是拉美文化的重要組成部分,咖啡是拉美地區(qū)的支柱產(chǎn)業(yè)之一,對當(dāng)?shù)亟?jīng)濟和貿(mào)易非常重要??Х瘸隹谠紦?jù)薩爾瓦多對外貿(mào)易的四分之一。他表示,非常高興能把薩爾瓦多的優(yōu)質(zhì)咖啡帶到重慶,相信會受到中國人民喜歡。佩德羅·哈耶姆、強納森分別推介了本國的咖啡豆以及咖啡產(chǎn)品。
