年齡與生活密切相關。那么，在英語中，如何準確表達年齡呢？對此，筆者總結了如下幾種表示方法，以期對同學們有所幫助。

一、“整歲”的表達

1.直接用基數(shù)詞。例如：

I m twelve now.

我現(xiàn)在十二歲了。

2.基數(shù)詞+years old 。例如：

He will be sixteen years old next year.

明年他就十六歲。

3.基數(shù)詞+years of age 。例如：

Lucy is ten years of age.

露西十歲了。

4.基數(shù)詞-year-old 。例如：

Her three- year- old daughter can speak English.

她三歲大的女兒會說英語。

5.of+基數(shù)詞。例如：

Jack is a boy of seven.

杰克是一個七歲的小男孩。

6.at age+基數(shù)詞。例如：

At age fourteen， she joined the music club.

她十四歲時加入了音樂社團。

7.aged+基數(shù)詞。例如：

Tom has a son aged two.

湯姆有一個兩歲的兒子。

8.at the age of +基數(shù)詞。例如：

He learned to ride a bike at the age of eight.

他八歲時學會了騎自行車。

二、“……多歲”的表達

1.in one s +基數(shù)詞的復數(shù)形式。例如：

Many people retire in their sixties.

許多人在六十多歲時退休。

2.over+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

Can you imagine she s over ninety（years old）.

你能想象得到她已經(jīng)九十多歲了嗎？

3.above+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

My father is a man above fifty （years old）.

我父親是一個五十多歲的人。

4.past+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

Jane s grandpa is past eighty （years old）， but he is still in good health.

簡的祖父雖然八十多歲了，但是身體依然很健康。

5.more than+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

He didn t marry until he was more than forty （years old ）.

他直到四十多歲時才結婚。

6.基數(shù)詞+something 。例如：

In looks， she seems to be thirty some- thing.

從外表上看，她似乎有三十多歲了。

三、“不滿/到……歲”的表達

1.under +基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

They offer free deals for children under twelve（years old）.

他們?yōu)椴粷M12歲的兒童提供免費套餐。

2.less than+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

He was interested in math when he was less than four （years old）.

他不滿四歲時就對數(shù)學感興趣。

3.not yet +基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

At this time he was not yet twenty（years old）.

當時他還不滿二十歲。

4.hardly/barely/scarcely+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

When I learned to play the guitar，I was hardly/barely/scarcely six （years old）.

當我學彈吉他的時候，我還不滿六歲。

四、“快滿/到……歲”的表達

1.will be+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

Peter will be nine （years old）.

彼得快滿九歲了。

2.be going on +基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

I am going on eleven（years old）.

我快滿十一歲了。

3.begetting on+基數(shù)詞（+yearsold）。例如：

His sister is getting on twenty-two （years old）.

他的姐姐快滿二十二歲了。

4.nearly +基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

She is nearly forty （years old），but has a mental age of eighteen.

她雖然快滿四十歲了，但是心理年齡還是十八歲。

5.almost+基數(shù)詞（+years old）。例如：

My mother is a teacher， she is almost fifty （years old）.

我的母親是一名教師，她快滿五十歲了。

總之，英語中年齡的表達方式可謂是豐富多樣。在平時學習中，同學們要注意多總結、多積累，以此豐富語言知識儲備，這樣才不會有“書到用時方恨少”的懊惱和遺憾。
