President Xi and Senegalese President Exchange Congratulatory Messages on the 20th Anniversary of FOCAC

On October 12， 2020， Chinese President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages on the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Forum on ChinaAfrica Cooperation （FOCAC） together with Senegalese President Macky Sall， who is also the African co-chair of the FOCAC.

Both President Xi and President Sall said that under the joint efforts made by China and Africa over the past two decades， the FOCAC has grown into an important and dynamic platform for China and Africa to carry out collective dialogues as well as is an effective mechanism for practical cooperation， and represents an important flag for South-South cooperation. China and Africa have all along adhered to the principle of putting people first and committed themselves to the high-level quality development of the China-Africa comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership， cooperating through FOCAC to benefit the people of both China and Africa.

Xi Jinping and Macky Sall stressed that both countries are willing to work with FOCAC members， continue to uphold the principle of “achieving shared growth through consultation and collaboration，” constantly enrich and improve the FOCACs mechanism， will give further play to the leading role of the FOCAC in China-Africa relations， connect Chinas Two Centenary Goals to the Agenda 2063 of the African Union， comprehensively implement the achievements of the Beijing Summit and the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19， push the China-Africa comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership to new heights， and build a closer China-Africa community with a shared future.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic Meets with Yang Jiechi

On October 12， 2020， Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Yang Jiechi， member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee， in Belgrade.

Yang Jiechi said that China and Serbia， under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries， have consolidated the comprehensive strategic partnership. The two countries have cooperated in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic， shedding new light on the solid China-Serbia friendship.

Yang added that the cooperation between China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe （CEE） has created opportunities of common development for both sides. China stands ready to work with CEE countries， including Serbia， to jointly push forward cooperation to secure high-level and highquality development.

President Vucic said that developing Serbia-China relations is a firm and independent decision by Serbia， and Serbia will forever be a sincere and dependable friend of China. The comprehensive cooperation between the two sides has brought tangible benefits for the Serbian people. Serbia， while sparing no effort to push forward joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative， welcomes Chinese investment and will continue to expand cooperation with China in such fields as infrastructure construction， health care， digital economy， and tourism. Serbia also stands ready to continue to play a positive role in pushing forward cooperation between CEE countries and China.

Wang Yi Meets with Indonesian Presidents Special Envoy

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan， Indonesian presidents special envoy， the countrys coordinator for cooperation with China and coordinating minister for maritime affairs and investment， on October 9， 2020， in Tengchong City， southwest Chinas Yunnan Province.

Wang Yi said， China has viewed its ties with Indonesia from a strategic perspective all along and prioritized the bilateral ties in its neighborhood diplomacy. Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations， Wang expressed the hope that the two countries should， with a vision for fighting against the pandemic and recovering the economy， continue to consolidate political trust and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Wang Yi pointed out that the two countries should focus on economic and social development in the wake of the pandemic， and strengthen cooperation in new business models and new technologies.

Luhut said， his present visit to China as the special envoy of President Joko Widodo is aimed at delivering on a series of new consensuses which were previously reached between the two presidents over the phone and pushing ahead the bilateral relations and practical cooperation. Amid the outbreak of the epidemic， Indonesia hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in research and development of vaccines and bring the role of the “fast-track lane” between the two countries into play to facilitate exchanges between medical organizations and medical workers. And， Indonesia is willing to sign cooperation documents on the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Maritime Fulcrum at an early date， enlarge its cooperation with China on trade and investment， actively put in place currency swap arrangements and settlements in local currency， and learn from Chinas experience in fighting against poverty.
