Do you know pancakes (薄餅)? Many people in America eat them for breakfast with syrup (糖漿). Americans are not the only ones to eat pancakes. In Fact, wherever you go in the world, you will find people eating them.
Pancakes have many different names. People from different countries call them differently. Australian people call them“pikelets”; in Mexico, “tortillas”. In France people call very thin pancakes “crepes”. When you ask for a pancake in Russia you may get a “pannock”, and it is big enough to cover your plate, or you may get “strniki” which are bite-sized. Most of the pancakes have meat and a kind of vegetables in them. Any kind of pancakes can make a main meal.
