North to Benjamin
Eleven-year-old Edgars mom is making him move. Again. This time, theyre going to a tiny town in the Yukon called Dawson, Alaska. For once, though, Edgar is excited. Theyll be housesitting1, and with the house comes a dog: Benjamin.
Its love at first sight when Edgar first sees the Newfoundland. Soon he likes lots of other things about Dawson. But just as soon, he starts noticing2 things his mom did before. They make them move so much and will make them move again. Unless he can warn3 the people who are about to be hurt4.
Yet just when Edgar needs his voice5 most, its gone. He cant speak to anyone but Benjamin. So, with the dog by his side, Edgar starts a hard journey across the Yukon River to find answers. He wants to find a way to keep his mother from upturning6 their lives all over again.
