Starting December 12, 2018, the pyrolysis naphtha hydrotreating catalysts SHP-02 and SHP-02/f developed by the SINOPEC Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology (SRIPT) have been successfully applied in the 720 kt/a pyrolysis naphtha hydrotreating unit at the Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Company.
It is told that the catalyst SHP-02 consists of Co-Mo-Ni metals supported on Al2O3, featuring reliable activity for HT, HDS and HDN of olefins, and good operating stability along with the possibility of on-site catalyst regeneration, which can bring into full play its potential
high performance. After having completed the catalyst loading into the two-stage reactors in mid-November of 2018, the Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Company has finished at the beginning of December the presulfurization of catalysts.
The pyrolysis naphtha hydrotreating unit was put on stream smoothly and successfully at the first attempt according to the normal startup sequence, while delivering the product with its bromine number meeting the spec. At present, this unit operates smoothly, showing a reasonable temperature distribution in the catalyst beds.
