松鼠媽媽和小松鼠住在森林里的大橡樹洞里。冬天來了，天氣越來越冷，小松鼠凍得瑟瑟發(fā)抖。又下起了雪，他該怎么在冬天保暖（keep warm in winter）呢？他的朋友們又會怎么保暖呢？Lets read the story.

It is winter now.

Snow falls （降落） to the forest.

In the oak tree， Little Squirrel shivers（顫抖）.

“Mama， it is so cold！” says Little Squirrel.

“How do we keep warm （保暖） this winter？”

“We have bushy （毛茸茸的） tails，” mama says.

“They are like blankets （毯子）.

We use our bushy tails to keep warm.”

The next day， Little Squirrel goes out.

He is playing with his friend Mouse.

He asks， “Mouse， what do you do in winter to keep warm？”

“If it gets too cold，” says Mouse.

“Ill stay in my underground （地下的） nest，

and eat the nuts and seeds Ive stored （儲藏）.”

A few days later， Little Squirrel sees his friend Woodchuck （土撥鼠）.

“Woodchuck， how do you keep warm in winter？” asks Little Squirrel.

“We hibernate （冬眠），” says Woodchuck.

“We sleep in our den（窩） all winter.

And Im going there now. Good night！”

Little Squirrel meets his friend Box Turtle （箱龜）.

He is digging （挖掘） in a pile of （一堆） fallen leaves.

“Hello， Turtle，” says Little Squirrel.

“Are you ready for winter？ What do you do to keep warm？”

“It means a long sleep for me in winter，” says Turtle.

“Im making a bed in these leaves.I stay here until （直到） spring.”

Little Squirrel sees his friend Robin （知更鳥）.

“Robin， what do you do in winter？” asks Little Squirrel.

“I dont stay here in winter，” says Robin.

“I fly south to find more food.”

Every creature （生物） has its way （方法） to keep warm.

Little Squirrel goes home.

He snuggles （蜷縮） next to his mama.

They wrap （包圍） their bushy tails around.

Then they take a nap.
