1. What about this dictionary?

What about...?為常用句型,表示“……怎么樣呢?”“……又如何呢?”也可以說,How about...?該句型的具體用法如下:

(1)詢問情況或打聽消息。當(dāng)對方對談的事情不明確,需要詢問清楚時(shí),可用這一句型。

—I want to talk to you.

我想要和你談話。

—What about?

談什么?

(2)征求對方的看法或意見。

What about this bike?

這輛自行車怎么樣?

What about his playing football?

他的足球踢得怎么樣?

(3)寒暄時(shí)用作承接上下文的轉(zhuǎn)折語。

Id like a cup of tea. What about you?

(1)for 作介詞,意為“為了;給;對”,后面接名詞和代詞。如:

(2)thank you for加名詞表示“為某事/某物而感謝某人”。如:

(3)help在此作不可數(shù)名詞,意為“幫助”。如:

Tony needs some help.

托尼需要一些幫助。

(4)welcome 作形容詞,意為“受歡迎的”,表示允許對方做某事或使用某物(其后常接介詞to,這里的to既可用作介詞,其后接名詞或代詞;也可用作不定式符號,其后接動詞原形),意為“請自便;隨便你;你盡管可以……”。如:

Youre welcome to English Corner.

隨時(shí)歡迎你來英語角。

Youre welcome to ask question.

隨時(shí)歡迎你提問題。

You are welcome. 表示“不客氣,不用謝”,一般用來回應(yīng)對方的道謝,有時(shí)也可省去You are,而只說Welcome。如:

—Thanks a lot, Mr. Smith.

多謝您,史密斯先生。

—(You are) welcome.

不用謝。

名詞性物主代詞

英語中,物主代詞分為形容詞性物主代詞和名詞性物主代詞。名詞性物主代詞有:mine,yours,his,hers,its,ours,theirs。具體用法如下:

(1)名詞性物主代詞具有名詞的性質(zhì),可以單獨(dú)使用,在句子中可以作主語、賓語或表語。如:

This is my pen. Yours is on the desk.

這是我的鋼筆,你的在書桌上。(作主語)

The green bike is his.

綠色的自行車是他的。(作表語)

(2)名詞性物主代詞具有“形容詞性物主代詞 + 名詞”的作用。如:

The bike is his. Its not mine. (mine = my bike)

這輛自行車是他的,不是我的。

(3)名詞性物主代詞與形容詞性物主代詞的區(qū)別:

形容詞性物主代詞起形容詞的作用,用在名詞前。

This is my book.

這是我的書。

We love our motherland.

我們熱愛我們的祖國。

注意:在使用名詞性物主代詞時(shí),必須有特定的語言環(huán)境,也就是要省略的名詞大家已經(jīng)知道、已經(jīng)提起過。只有上文提及了某個(gè)名詞,才會知道名詞性物主代詞指代的事物。如:

Its hers.

是她的。(單獨(dú)使用大家不知什么是她的,因此不可以這樣用。)

There is a book. Its hers.

這兒有本書。是她的(書)。(hers = her book)

注意:在表示建議、反問、請求的疑問句中,或期望得到肯定回答時(shí)也用some。如:

3. I lost my school ID card. I must find it.

我弄丟了我的學(xué)生卡。我必須找到它。

(1)lost v. 遺失,丟失,lose的過去式,指因事故、過失、不幸、死亡等原因失去所擁有的某人或某物,含有不能再找回來的意思。如:

I lost my pen.

我丟了我的鋼筆。

He lost a leg.

他失去了一條腿。

(2)must 必須,作情態(tài)動詞,其后接動詞原形,無人稱和數(shù)的變化。它強(qiáng)調(diào)個(gè)人主觀感覺“有必要,必須”。如:

I must study hard.

我必須努力學(xué)習(xí)。

(3)find v. 找到;發(fā)現(xiàn),多指偶然發(fā)現(xiàn)、碰到,強(qiáng)調(diào)尋找的結(jié)果,其后接名詞。如:

I cant find my book anywhere.

我到處都找不到我的書。

I cant find the keys.

我找不到鑰匙了。

4. Call me at 685-6034.

打我電話685-6034。

(1)call作動詞,意為“(給……)打電話”,其后常接人的名詞或代詞,表示“給某人打電話”。如:
