給別人打電話，中國人一般會先說“請找一下某某，謝謝”。用英語也是一樣，“May I speak to XX， please？”是最禮貌的說法。

在電話中介紹自己則應該說“This is XX speaking”。用“This is”比“I am”更有禮貌。

不知道是誰打來的，當然不能開口就問“Who are you？”這在中文中就是“你誰？”是十分不禮貌的，應該說“May I ask who's calling？”

接到朋友的電話，可以說"What's up？"

例如：

Reader A（讀者A）： May I speak to Zoey（某編輯）please？

請問是Zoey嗎？

FJ： May I ask who's calling？

請問是哪位？

Reader A： This is Anna speaking. I'm a reader of your magazine. I got your number from your public account.

我是Anna，你們雜志的一個讀者。我從你們的微信公眾號上看到你們的電話。

FJ： I'm sorry， Anna. Zoey is not in the office now.

抱歉Anna，Zoey現(xiàn)在不在辦公室。

Reader A： OK， I'll call back later.

好吧，我待會兒再打過來。

FJ： All right. Bye.

好的，再見。

Reader A： Bye.

再見。

“洪荒之力”火了，英語怎么說？

愛學習的同學們就問了，這個“洪荒之力”用英語怎么表達呢？

央視英語新聞頻道官方微博@CCTVNEWS 在一段報道中給出了一個答案：

中國游泳選手傅園慧在里約奧運會女子（100米）仰泳半決賽中游出個人最好成績后的夸張反應成為網(wǎng)絡熱點。她在接受央視記者采訪時說：“我已經(jīng)用了洪荒之力?！比缓螅@個說法也火了。

這里用prehistorical powers來表達“洪荒之力”，從字面上直接反應了地球形成早期，也就是“史前”這個概念。
