一、教學(xué)內(nèi)容

本課的教學(xué)內(nèi)容是《牛津高中英語(yǔ)》模塊八第二單元Reading Turandot in Beijing(圖蘭朵在北京)。本單元主要介紹西方音樂(lè)及其發(fā)展史,歌劇作為一種重要的音樂(lè)形式,深受廣大人民的喜愛(ài)。本課是某音樂(lè)雜志一名英國(guó)記者對(duì)1998年張藝謀導(dǎo)演的在紫禁城上演的歌劇“Turandot”的評(píng)論。學(xué)生對(duì)歌劇這種西方的音樂(lè)形式普遍比較陌生,而對(duì)中國(guó)導(dǎo)演張藝謀導(dǎo)演的歌劇充滿好奇。這一課會(huì)在滿足他們好奇心的同時(shí),讓他們學(xué)會(huì)欣賞歌劇、評(píng)論歌劇。

二、教學(xué)目標(biāo)

(一)語(yǔ)言知識(shí)目標(biāo)

1.詞匯

(1)學(xué)生能夠準(zhǔn)確掌握并運(yùn)用有關(guān)opera review的一些術(shù)語(yǔ),如setting,plot,review等。

(2)學(xué)生能夠準(zhǔn)確使用be set in,take place,story,at this time等描述故事背景。

(3)學(xué)生能夠準(zhǔn)確使用act, cast,stage等詞描述演員角色

(4)學(xué)生能夠正確運(yùn)用褒義、貶義及中性形容詞對(duì)演員及劇中人物進(jìn)行評(píng)價(jià)。

2.語(yǔ)法

學(xué)生能夠使用正確的時(shí)態(tài)敘述故事。

3.功能

學(xué)生能夠使用恰當(dāng)?shù)木湫捅磉_(dá)評(píng)論及其他觀點(diǎn)。

1.閱讀技能

(1)學(xué)生能夠通過(guò)略讀,利用關(guān)鍵信息總結(jié)段落大意。

(2)學(xué)生能夠初步了解段落主題句的作用及其語(yǔ)言結(jié)構(gòu)特征。

(3)學(xué)生能夠建構(gòu)“戲劇評(píng)論”這種文體的閱讀結(jié)構(gòu)圖式,并利用該圖示理解評(píng)論類文章。

2.寫作技能

(1)學(xué)生通過(guò)對(duì)于范文的觀察、模仿和老師的范例指導(dǎo),在遣詞造句、組織語(yǔ)言方面有所提高。

(2)學(xué)生通過(guò)觀察、模仿范文的段落結(jié)構(gòu),學(xué)會(huì)對(duì)從各種渠道獲得的素材進(jìn)行有機(jī)的組合。

(3)通過(guò)當(dāng)堂有指導(dǎo)的仿寫和小組互評(píng),使學(xué)生學(xué)會(huì)從謀篇布局、遣詞造句等方面修改自己的文章。

(三)學(xué)習(xí)策略目標(biāo)

1.學(xué)生能夠進(jìn)行觀察對(duì)比,總結(jié)opera review的寫作方法。

2.學(xué)生能夠通過(guò)模仿進(jìn)行自主體驗(yàn)學(xué)習(xí)。

通過(guò)對(duì)本課opera review 的學(xué)習(xí),使學(xué)生關(guān)注不同文化背景下的人們對(duì)于歌劇的情感態(tài)度。

1.學(xué)生能夠使用恰當(dāng)?shù)恼Z(yǔ)言表達(dá)對(duì)歌劇、人物、主題等的情感、態(tài)度。

2.通過(guò)小組互評(píng),使學(xué)生在合作中互相學(xué)習(xí),在分享中共同進(jìn)步。

三、學(xué)情分析

高二年級(jí)學(xué)生對(duì)音樂(lè)的欣賞已經(jīng)有了一定的水準(zhǔn)和自主學(xué)習(xí)的能力,多數(shù)同學(xué)在老師的提示下,結(jié)合上下文,在幾分鐘之內(nèi)就能理解單詞和文章的大意,但少數(shù)學(xué)生的知識(shí)儲(chǔ)備和知識(shí)水平還有欠缺。因此,筆者結(jié)合學(xué)生實(shí)際,在指導(dǎo)學(xué)生讀課文、理解劇情時(shí),充分發(fā)揮引導(dǎo)者、組織者的作用,讓學(xué)生通過(guò)小組合作、探討、視頻欣賞等多種形式進(jìn)行閱讀,并及時(shí)指導(dǎo),由此更充分地激發(fā)學(xué)生對(duì)學(xué)習(xí)和探索的熱情。

四、教學(xué)重點(diǎn)及難點(diǎn)

1.了解revew 的文體特點(diǎn)并以此指導(dǎo)閱讀;訓(xùn)練skimming, scanning, careful reading等閱讀微技能;

2.引導(dǎo)學(xué)生總結(jié)review 寫作中的共性問(wèn)題;

3.對(duì)文章深層次的理解及細(xì)節(jié)的欣賞,認(rèn)識(shí)及分析主人公的人物特征及人物性格。

五、教學(xué)步驟

Step 1 Lead-in

1. Show the students a picture of Zhang Yimou. And ask them the following questions.

Who is the person in the picture? What does he do? (Zhang Yimou. He is a famous director in China and also in the world.)

What has he directed? (Bid for the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing, the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony of the 29th Olympic Games, for which he won the title of “The figures that move China in 2008”.)

Can you name some of his movies? (Raise the red lantern; Curse of the golden flower...)

Who played in his movie Curse of the golden flower? (Gong Li, Jay Chou, Chou Runfa starred in the movie. Or we can also say that Zhang Yimou cast them in the movie. )

2. Introduce the style of writing to the student.

If you want to watch one of Zhangs movies and you dont know if it is a good one or not, where can you find the information you want? (Ask your friends for opinions or you can also read a film review.)

What is a review? (A review is a report in a newspaper or magazine in which sb. gives their opinion of a book, play, film, etc.)

So what do you expect to read in an opera review? (Some background information, the plot of an opera, who stars in the opera and what people think of the opera ...)

Step 2 Skimming

Read the opera as quickly as possible and find out what it is about. What aspects of information can you find in the review? Were your guesses right?

(It is an opera review about Turandot staged in the Forbidden City. We can find some background information, the plot of an opera, who stars in the opera and what people think of the opera in the reading.)

Step 3 Reading aloud

Divide the passage into 4 parts and find out the main idea of each part.

Part 1 (Para 1): Background information

Part 2 (Para 2-7): The plot

Part 3 (Para 8): Other information about the opera

Part 4 (Para 9): Evaluation

Step 4 Scanning

Read the passage again to find out some detailed information.

Main characters: Turandot- a Chinese princess; Calaf- prince; Liu- Calafs fathers young slave

Setting: the Forbidden City

Plot: The story takes on the classic love triangle of the three main characters Turandot, Calaf and Liu. Liu loves Calaf, but Calaf has fallen in love with Turandot. Because Turandot does not want to get married, she declares that anyone who wants to marry her must answer her three questions. If the one cannot answer these questions, he will be killed.

Director: Zhang Yimou

Conductor: Zubin Mehta

Actors and actresses: Sharon Sweet; Barbara Hendricks; Kristjan Johannsson

Step 5 Careful reading

Read Paragraphs 4-6 and put the events of the story in the correct order.

( ) However, Liu, the slave girl, expresses her love for Calaf.

( ) Princess Turandot has Liu beaten, and Liu kills herself.

( ) Prince Calaf sees the prince and falls in love with her.

Step 6 Homework

Work in pairs.

Suppose one of you have watched Turandot. Your partner is asking you about the basic information about the opera. Make up a dialogue between the two.

六、教學(xué)反思

本課是閱讀教學(xué),閱讀的主要目的是通過(guò)對(duì)文本的研讀獲取必要的信息,通過(guò)略讀和跳讀等技巧,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生快速捕捉信息的能力,幫助學(xué)生更好地欣賞歌劇劇評(píng)。通過(guò)設(shè)計(jì)相關(guān)的練習(xí),檢測(cè)和鞏固學(xué)生對(duì)課文的理解,幫助學(xué)生宏觀把握全文和復(fù)述課文。
