Cotton Council International has joined hands with Strawberry Music Festival and Modernsky LAB to launch “COTTON USA - Experience the Power of Cotton”, a theme campaign focusing on environmental protection and sustainable living. Following “COTTON USA – The Power of Cotton” exhibition at China Fashion Week held in March, the campaign is bringing fun to concertgoers at Strawberry Music Festival in Chongqing during June and aiming to bring awareness toward reducing consumption of disposable products and encouraging everyone to embrace an eco-friendly and healthy lifestyle by using high quality products made from natural fibers, such as U.S. cotton.
For this campaign, COTTON USA has invited Ms. Li Zhao, a young artist from Modernsky LAB, to design the “Cotton Man” made from high-quality fabric sponsored by Victory City Co., Ltd. By letting more people experience the power of cotton, the artwork encourages visitors to replace disposable consumables with degradable and recyclable natural eco-friendly materials. Ms. Karin Malmstrom, Director for Cotton Council International, China and Northeast Asia, said: “The U.S. cotton industry focuses on quality and sustainable natural fiber, is committed to responsible agricultural production, and aims to strike a balance among economic development, environmental protection and social responsibility. Modern U.S. agricultural technology has also reduced the environmental impact of cotton production to a great extent, and efficiently utilizes our limited soil, water, air and other natural resources.” According to Ms. Karin Malmstrom, the theme campaign launched by COTTON USA in collaboration with Strawberry Music Festival in Chongqing aims to enable everyone to enjoy U.S. cotton, a wonderful natural fiber, while experiencing the eco-friendly, healthy and comfortable lifestyle it brings.
At Strawberry Music Festival, COTTON USA introduced the “Cotton Tribe” concept to give a greater sense of belonging and unity to all those who share their concern for our environment. In the DIY zone, participants can freely express their feelings about environmental protection, and use the stamps designed by artist Ms. Li Zhao to customize unique reusable cotton bags and handkerchiefs with the denim and woven fabrics sponsored by COTTON USAs licensees, namely Advanced Denim and Huafang Co., Ltd. respectively. Visitors will also receive quality U.S. cotton towels provided by COTTON USAs brand licensee - Byford after showing the washing labels with cotton composition in their dresses and acquiring certification from “Cotton Man”.
The “Cotton Tribe” and its message of environmental protection has not only attracted the interest of many festivalgoers, but also gained great support from the organizer of Strawberry Music Festival. COTTON USAs brand licensees Le coq sportif and Teelocker also provided bands and staffs with high-quality COTTON USA T-shirts, spreading environmentally friendly, healthy and comfortable lifestyle concept represented by COTTON USA.
