“Writings on the Wall”是“007”系列第24部電影《007：幽靈黨》（Spectre）的主題曲，這首歌在2016年第88屆奧斯卡頒獎典禮上摘得最佳原創(chuàng)歌曲大獎。2015年格萊美獎得主、英國歌手Sam Smith創(chuàng)作并獻唱了這首歌。這是繼英國最有成就的男歌手之一Tom Jones錄制1965年“007”電影的主題曲“Thunderball”之后，又一位英國杰出男歌手為“007”系列電影精心奉上的音樂大作?！癢ritings on the Wall”一經(jīng)推出便獲得廣泛的關(guān)注，破紀(jì)錄地成為第一首獲得英國單曲排行榜（UK Singles Chart）冠軍的“007”電影主題曲。

歌名“Writings on the Wall”的字面含義是“墻上有文字”，這個說法出自《圣經(jīng)》中的典故?！杜f約·但以理書》中寫道，古巴比倫國王伯沙撒設(shè)宴縱飲，突然發(fā)現(xiàn)宮殿的墻壁上出現(xiàn)了看不懂的文字，猶太預(yù)言家但以理稱，墻上的文字表示“大難臨頭”。果不其然，伯沙撒當(dāng)夜被殺，王位被篡奪。由此，“the writing on the wall”引申為“sign or warning of impending disaster （大難臨頭的預(yù)兆）”的意思。

在“007”系列電影中，主角James Bond每次都會經(jīng)歷生死之劫，因此這個歌名與電影內(nèi)容十分貼合。但Sam Smith在創(chuàng)作時獨辟蹊徑，為Bond的硬漢形象增添了一絲脆弱。“How do I live？ How do I breathe？ When youre not here Im suffocating.”副歌部分的假音婉轉(zhuǎn)動人，展現(xiàn)了英雄細膩和柔情的一面。正如每一部“007”系列電影中都有一位“邦女郎”，在《007：幽靈黨》中，James Bond和Dr. Madeleine Swann也演繹了生死考驗下的愛情故事。Bond本來受Swann父親之托，保護Swann免遭幽靈黨的迫害，結(jié)果卻是Swann扮演了Bond助手的角色，在經(jīng)歷一系列驚心動魄的冒險后，他們和美國國家安全局的同事一起搗毀了全球邪惡組織——幽靈黨。在尋找幽靈黨的漫漫征程中，兩人漸生情愫，Bond在此過程中展現(xiàn)出的俠骨柔情在“Writings on the Wall”這首歌里得到了完美詮釋。
