May 12th, the official website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Supervision announced that Zhang kunsheng, former general director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, party committee member and assistant secretary, Director of Concierge Department has been inspected by the Central Commission for Discipline for his serious violation of disciplines.
It is reported that the 57 year old (born August 1958) PhD of Law comes from Shannxi province. He was appointed as the assistant to the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2011, mainly in charge of Latin America regional affairs, concierge affairs, and served as director of the Protocol Department. Before investigation, Zhang Kunsheng ranked the first among four assistant foreign ministers.
Zhang kunsheng entered the diplomatic team of Foreign Affairs Ministry in 1985, had served as the office staff and then the third secretary to the minister. He visited and investigated 121 countries and regions in 5 years.Later on, he went to the Harvard University, the University of California, Berkeley, Princeton University, Stanford University and Oxford University to further his study. Finally, Zhang kunsheng gained doctors degree of law at St. Anthonys School of international relations, Oxford University. In 1995, Zhang Kunsheng returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as the special assistant to the U.S. ambassador Li Zhaoxing.During this period, Zhang Kunsheng participated in the round-trip visits between Chinese and American leaders many times. He had taken the responsibility for the design of 27 speeches and visit routes for President Jiang Zemins first visit to U.S.A in the year 1998.
