樊麗紅 伊洛

一群螞蟻（Ants）和一只蚱蜢（Grasshopper）住在森林里。炎炎夏日，蚱蜢整天躺在草地上乘涼，唱歌，而螞蟻們則頂著烈日在搬運(yùn)糧食。很快，寒冷的冬天來了，螞蟻們有了充足的食物過冬，而蚱蜢又會怎么辦呢？

Lets read the story.

It is summer. Its so hot！

A Grasshopper is lying under shade.

He is drinking a glass of cold lemonade.

Grasshopper： What a hot day！ This lemonade is cool and sweet. I like it. Look， there are a group of ants. What are they doing？ Why are they working so hard？

lying （動詞原形lie）躺； shade 樹陰； lemonade 檸檬水；hard （副詞）努力地

A group of ants are busy gathering food.

All of them are sweating.

Grasshopper： Hello， Ants. Why are you gathering food？

Ants： Because winter is coming. We must prepare.

Grasshopper： You are kidding！ Its only July. Winter is far away. Come and sing with me！

Ants： Sorry， were busy. And I suggest you should also gather some food. Or， you will starve in winter.

gather 收集；sweat 流汗；prepare 準(zhǔn)備；kid 開玩笑；far away 遙遠(yuǎn)的；suggest 建議；or 否則；starve 挨餓

The Ants continue to gather food.

The Grasshopper continues to sing and dance.

Grasshopper： Poor Ants！ It is only summer. Winter is far away. Theres a lot of food here. I will sing alone. La， la， la， la. Lets sing and dance all day long.

Soon autumn comes.

The weather is getting colder and colder.

Grasshopper： Achoo！ It is cool this morning.

The leaves are on the fields.

Is it already autumn？

But its not too bad.

And there is still enough food.

Winter comes. The fields are now covered with snow.

The Grasshopper is looking for food.

Grasshopper： Oh， Im so cold and hungry！

I hate the cold weather. I hate winter.

Im starving to death！ What are the ants doing now？ They have a lot of food.

I can borrow some food from them.

The Grasshopper knocks at the Ants door.

Grasshopper： Knock， knock.

Ants： Who is that？

Grasshopper： Im Grasshopper， your friend.

Ants： The lazy Grasshopper？ What brings you here？

Grasshopper： Hello， Ants.

Ants： Well， come in， please.

The Grasshopper comes into the Ants house.

Grasshopper： Wow， you have lots of food！ Im so hungry！ Can you give me a little food？ Sorry. I was wrong. I will work hard next time.

Ants： OK， we will lend you some food.

Grasshopper： Thank you.

Ants： Dont be lazy again.

Grasshopper： I promise！
