百度大廈是百度公司的總部和研發(fā)大廈，設(shè)計以百度公司的“簡單，可依賴”核心理念立意，以“建筑邏輯簡單理性，建筑空間豐富感性”為建筑設(shè)計理念，采用“外部形象簡潔完整大方，內(nèi)部空間多樣變化靈動” 為建筑語言貼切地表達(dá)，創(chuàng)造出具有中國傳統(tǒng)神韻的、豐富體驗性的、充滿陽光、空氣和綠色的高品質(zhì)建筑空間并具獨特建筑形象的現(xiàn)代辦公建筑。

建筑總體平面設(shè)計為一個完整的“目”字形，已被百度人親切地稱為“搜索框”， 南、中、北3個辦公單元，與中央的公共單元共同圍合成3個相互貫通的院落，平面功能清晰實用。

西側(cè)嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)勻質(zhì)的銀灰色金屬翼與東側(cè)變幻起伏的白色玻璃翼，強烈地表達(dá)出簡單與復(fù)雜、理性與感性的對立統(tǒng)一，含蓄地詮釋了百度公司的企業(yè)文化。

大廈主體辦公空間穿插著的“九大公共空間”，形成一種立體連貫的空間網(wǎng)絡(luò)，為使用者創(chuàng)造了中國園林式的步移景異的四維豐富體驗。

The building is Baidu Inc.'s headquarters and office for research and development. The design originates from the company's core concept of "simplicity and reliability", proposing "simple, rational architectural logic" and "rich, perceptual architectural space". Its architectural vocabulary can be described as featuring "simple, complete and generous exterior" and "diverse, variable and flexible interior", which together create a bright, green modern office building with traditional Chinese spirit and distinctive architectural image.

The general layout takes the form of the Chinese character "目" (i.e. the "eye"), which Baidu workers have nicknamed as the "search box". Together with the central public area, the 3 office units – south, central, and north – enclose 3 interconnected courtyards, in which various functions are clearly delineated.

The west wing in rigorous and homogeneous silver-gray metal and the east wing in undulating white glass strongly express the unity of opposites between simplicity and complexity, rationality and sensibility – an implicit interpretation of Baidu's enterprise culture.

Weaving into the building's main office area, the "9 public spaces" form a continuous 3-dimentional spatial network, creating an even richer 4-dimentional experience of "varying sceneries with changing viewpoints" which is characteristic of Chinese gardens.
