Abstract:With the in-depth development of economic globalization, fierce competition in the market, customer’s needs become more diverse. Meanwhile, the rapid development of technology shortens the product life cycle. Enterprises face the open and ever-changing competition, if the products can be made at a low price, it will improve the competitiveness of their products. Modular production methods can greatly reduce the cost of the products with a good quality. The paper sums up the impact of modular manufacturing on product costs. In addition, the modular realization does not completely free, it will increase the cost of business, and there will have some transaction costs and opportunity costs.
