Income of Hunan Nonferrous Circular Industry Topped 100 Billion

According to Hunan Province Nonferrous Metals Administration Bureau, in 2014 the main business income of Hunan Province nonferrous metals cycling reproduction industry topped 100 billion yuan. Under triple pressure of resource, environment and market, nonferrous cycling reproduction industry becomes a new growth pole of Hunan Province nonferrous industry.

Hunan Province is a big province in nonferrous metal resources. In the past nonferrous metals mining, dressing and smelting processes, massive volume of associated or coexisting nonferrous metals in slag were wasted without being recycled; today technological progress pushed forward integrated recycling to change waste into treasure. Jinwang Bismuth Industrial Co., Ltd recycles bismuth from slag, the ultra fine bismuth oxide after processing accounts for 40% market share of the global market, exported to a number of countries. Yongxing, nicknamed “Capital of Silver”, in the fashion of “creating things out of nothing”, it extracted huge volume of silver from waste slag and waste liquid, which accounts for over 1/3 of national total production.

Massive volume of industrial waste is also a kind of inexhaustible resources. Jinlong Copper Industry deeply excavated “urban mine”, grew up progressively to become industry leader in our province.

At present, Hunan Province already has 6 state-level circular economy pilot projects in Miluo of Yueyang, Yongxing of Chenzhou, and Qingshuitang of Zhuzhou, 1 state-level “Urban Mine” demonstration spot, 17 key enterprises, 7 park zone circular economy pilot projects, and initially developed nonferrous recycling reproduction industry circle centering on “Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan” , plus two major reproduction resource industrial bases of Yongxing and Miluo in south and north of the province. In 2014, the whole province’s output of secondary resource metals in nonferrous circular economy reached 1.22 million tonnes.

According to statistics, the whole province currently has 236 nonferrous metal recycling companies, over 3500 operation households, and more than 5000 purchase outlets, it has basically constructed a recycling network covering the whole province.

“By 2020, the whole province’s nonferrous metal recycling reproduction industry must reach 300 billion yuan above in income.” According to Song Jianmin, Director of Hunan Province Nonferrous Metals Administration Bureau, centering on Miluo Circular Economy Industrial Park, vigorously develop scrap copper, waste aluminum recycling and utilization; focusing on Chenzhou Hi-tech Industry Park, recycle tungsten, antimony, bismuth from waste slag before re-manufacture and deep processing; guided by technology-oriented enterprises and park zones represented by Hunan Nonferrous Metals Research Institute, Hunan Rare Earth Metal Material Research Institute, Yongxing Industry Park, carry out integrated recycling and utilization of nonferrous metals solid waste and rare earth and precious rare metals.
