Yunnan Metallurgical Group and Zhaotong together Discussed Hydropower Aluminum Integration Project

Recently, CPC Yunnan Province Zhaotong Municipal Committee, Zhaotong Municipal Government and Yunnan Metallurgical Group opened a discussion meeting in Kunming, and discussed relevant matters about the construction of Hydropower aluminum industry integration project, aiming to promote mutual benefit and win-win between both sides, and fulfill joint development. Liu Jianhua, Secretary of CPC Zhaotong Municipal Committee, Zhang Jihua, Deputy Secretary of CPC Zhaotong Municipal Committee and Mayor of Zhaotong, Cheng Lianyuan, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Zhaotong, Vice Mayor Yu Wei, Tian Yong, Chairman and Secretary of Party Committee of Yunnan Metallurgical Group, Zhou Qiang, Vice Chairman of Yunnan Metallurgical Group, and Wang Hongjiang, Deputy General Manager of Yunnan Metallurgical Group, attended the discussion meeting. Long Jing, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Municipal Committee and Secretary-general of CPC Municipal Committee, presided over the discussion meeting.

At the meeting, chief persons of Zhaotong Municipal Government and Yunnan Metallurgical Group respectively introduced the progress of electrolytic aluminum project. During the recent period, Zhaotong City and Yunnan Metallurgical Group conducted multiple docking sessions over the Hydropower aluminum industry integrated construction project, the project overall planning, site selection, reconnaissance survey and other works made steady progress. After professional technological analysis, the project plans to adopt 400ka series aluminum electrobath process technology with international advanced standard, total size of the construction is 700,000 t/a Hydropower aluminum, scheduled to be implemented in two phases. According to preliminary estimate, the project’s total investment is about 6 billion yuan, the project needs land area of about 3000 mu. The project’s construction model is dominated by Yunnan Aluminum, Yunnan Metallurgical Group and an outside third party strategic investor will participate in project construction, striving for start of Phase I project at the end of 2015, and total completion before 2020.
