“China has undergone some remarkable changes over the past 30 years. My wife can speak Chinese. She brought me to China in the 1980s， when the country had just kicked off its policies of opening-up and reform， and I immediately fell in love with the place. When I went back 30 years later， I was amazed at the velocity of its growth. In a country of such openness all are moving briskly towards a better future，”

Swiss Ambassador to China， Mongolia and the DPRK JeanJacques de Dardel remarked to the media on the eve of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. He went on to say that， just six months into his term in office， he is deeply impressed by the Chinese governments resolve to deepen reforms， including those concerning environmental protection.

“We are now in an open， cooperative and changing world， where all countries are involved in one anothers affairs， whether they are grabbing opportunities or grappling with challenges. Dialogue and cooperation are the inevitable course，”

said H.E. Yang Xiuping， ambassador of the Mission of China to ASEAN， during a recent interview with Indonesias Metro TV. Mme Yang said that China， the worlds largest developing country， and ASEAN， a bloc comprised mostly of developing nations， have similar histories， common development desires， and compatible development paths and conceptions， which open broad space for bilateral cooperation in varied fields. She added that the two parties also shoulder the obligation to establish a more rational and just international political and economic order， so making the voice of developing countries heard in international affairs and defending their common interests.
