Teachers Day is， interestingly， not observed on the same day all over the world. It is perhaps one of those few days which has a separate international day whose importance is superseded by the nationally observed day. Taking a look at Teachers Day as it is celebrated across the world， in some countries it is marked by a holiday； in others it is a working day.

International Teachers Day observed by UNESCO is October 5. Being held ever since 1994， it commemorates teachers organisations worldwide. Its aim is to mobilise support for teachers and to ensure that the needs of future generations will continue to be met by teachers.

有意思的是，在世界范圍內(nèi)，教師節(jié)并不是同一天。跟其他的國(guó)際節(jié)日一樣，它是廣受國(guó)際重視的日子，只不過(guò)是在不同的日子里來(lái)紀(jì)念罷了。從世界范圍內(nèi)人們慶祝教師節(jié)的情況來(lái)看，一些國(guó)家把教師節(jié)作為一個(gè)節(jié)日，而在另一些國(guó)家它只是一個(gè)普通的工作日。

世界教科文組織決定每年10月5日為國(guó)際教師節(jié)。自1994年以來(lái)，10月5日都用于紀(jì)念世界范圍內(nèi)的教師組織，目的是為教師們爭(zhēng)取支持，并確保未來(lái)孩子的需要能得到滿足。

India—Teachers Day is celebrated on September 5 in honour of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan， the second president of India， whose birthday falls that day.

印度——教師節(jié)是每年的9月5日，以紀(jì)念印度的第二任總理拉達(dá)克里西那博士，他就在那天出生。

Russia—In Russia， Teachers Day was celebrated on the first Sunday of October between 1965 and 1994. Since 1994， the day is observed on the October 5， coinciding with World Teachers Day.

俄羅斯——俄羅斯的教師節(jié)在1965年到1994年間被定為10月的第一個(gè)周日。而1994年以來(lái)，俄羅斯的教師節(jié)就改為世界教科文組織規(guī)定的那天，即10月5日。

Turkey—In Turkey， Teachers Day is celebrated on November 24. Turkey's first president Kemal Ataturk dedicated November 24 to honour teachers and their profession. There is no holiday on this day.

土耳其——在土耳其，教師節(jié)是11月24日。土耳其第一任總統(tǒng)凱末爾·阿塔圖爾克用11月24日來(lái)表彰教師和他們的職業(yè)。這一天是不放假的。

Malaysia—May 16 is dedicated to teachers in Malaysia. The day is celebrated as Teachers Day in the country with great enthusiasm. The day is called ‘Hari Guru in Malaysia and is a working day.

馬來(lái)西亞——5月16日是馬來(lái)西亞的教師節(jié)。教師節(jié)這一天，全國(guó)上下都以極大的熱情來(lái)慶祝。這一天在馬來(lái)西亞語(yǔ)中被稱為“Hari Guru”，也是一個(gè)正常的工作日。

China—The earliest Teachers Day was on June 6， 1931， but it was not recognized by the government. In 1939， the day was set on August 27， Confucius birthday which wasnt carried out. The Teachers Day was celebrated with the Labors Day in 1951. In 1985， the teachers Day was abserved offically on September 10.

中國(guó)——我國(guó)最早的教師節(jié)出現(xiàn)在1931年，擬定每年6月6日為教師節(jié)，但并沒(méi)有被當(dāng)時(shí)的政府承認(rèn)。1939年，又把教師節(jié)定為8月27日，孔子的生日，也并未在全國(guó)推行。1951年教師節(jié)與“五一”國(guó)際勞動(dòng)節(jié)合并作為我國(guó)的教師節(jié)。1985年，確定教師節(jié)為每年的9月10日。Thailand—In Thailand， National Teachers Day is celebrated every year on January 16. The day was adopted as Teachers Day in the island nation by a resolution of the government on November 21， 1956. The first Teachers Day was held in 1957. The day is declared as a holiday in schools.

泰國(guó)——泰國(guó)的國(guó)家教師節(jié)定于每年的1月16日，這是由一項(xiàng)在1956年11月21日通過(guò)的政府決議規(guī)定的。1957年，泰國(guó)人民慶祝了第一個(gè)教師節(jié)。在泰國(guó)，教師節(jié)作為學(xué)校的節(jié)日來(lái)慶祝。

The US—In the US， Teachers Day is a non-official holiday. It is observed on the Tuesday of the first full week of May. The day is celebrated with pomp and gaiety. A number of activities are organised in schools to honour teachers. The celebrations can continue for the entire week of May.

Iran—In Iran， Teachers Day is celebrated on May 2. It commemorates the assassi-nation of Iranian professor Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari. The renowned writer， a teacher， was executed on May 2， 1980. On the day， students offer flowers to teachers to honour the sacred profession.

伊朗——在伊朗，教師節(jié)是5月2日。它是為了紀(jì)念被刺殺的伊朗教授阿亞圖拉·莫爾塔扎。一位教師和著名作家在1980年5月2日被暗殺。當(dāng)天，學(xué)生向教師敬獻(xiàn)鮮花，以贊美教師這個(gè)神圣的職業(yè)。
