The 34th Beijing youth science and technology innovation contest was held from March 27 to March 30， in Liang Xiang campus of Beijing Technology and Business University. This year there are more than 30 thousand of teenagers taking part in this contest. There were 1885 items attending the initial contest from every districts， including 929 competition projects， 84 outstanding practice activities of science and technology， 18 outstanding instructors， 170 science innovation projects of the instructors， and 684 scientific fiction paintings.

To encourage the science and technology innovation spirit of the youth， the magazine “knowledge is power” increased the “special award “ in this competition. The magazine president Guo Jing invited the doctor of philosophy of science and technology from Renmin University of China， Liu Huajie， the professor of the school of humanities from GUCAS， li Daguang， the former director of China Science and Technology Museum， Wang Yusheng as the judges of the “special award”. There will be three teams and two outstanding individuals win this award， the magazine will do follow-up report on the winning teams and individuals.
