The Modular Smartwatch： Blocks

A development team in England designed a kind of modular smart watch called Blocks. This product will offer a wearable experience which is totally custom-made. Customers can choose what sensors or functions they want within the Blocks， therefore the blocks will become a sports bracelet， or powerful smart watch.

The development team of Blocks was founded in November，2013. At that time，

The team had just put forward the concept of “Project Ara”. The developing team said ：” We have developed the functional working prototypes， which verified the concept， the connections among modules are reliable enough， and data can be sent from module to module. The communication protocol adopted can support the transmission speed of information within the watch.” At present， Block is still a conceptual product. In the long run， the development team of Blocks will issue the whole product in 2015， before which the developer edition will be issued.
