Its not your usual help-wanted ad, but it is a historic one. For the first time in its predicted 5,000-year history, Stonehenge is looking to hire.
The Telegraph reports only the “brightest and the best” need apply for the general manager position under English Heritage, which pays £65,000—roughly$99,000 a year.
But we have to wonder, how does one “generally manage” prehistoric stones?
The BBC explains duties include:
-Leading the Wiltshire monuments 180 staff and volunteer members
-Meeting with Druid leaders
-Overseeing celebration plans for summer and winter 1)solstices
-And most importantly, keeping the “dignity of the stones”
Although its exact purpose is still a mystery, many believe Stonehenge was constructed as a temple to the sun, aligning with the rising and setting of the sun at the solstices.
The Daily Mail reports a new museum, exhibition gallery and restaurant will open close to the ruins by the end of the year—providing tourists with a more pleasant visit than what owners believe they are experiencing now.
——領(lǐng)導(dǎo)威爾特郡紀念館的180位工作人員以及志愿者;
——與德魯伊教教主們會面;
——監(jiān)督夏至日和冬至日的慶?;顒?;
